I did read it, as well as the response from CBS. Every journalist writes bad articles sometimes, and I would be surprised if he doesn't regret the article after the fact. But the group-think here on the blog about him is obnoxious. I don't think he is a terrific writer, but few are, and few others who don't cover M get crucified on this blog like he does.

The coach is recommending a book by Rosenberg, not his reporting. If you've read the book and think it is awful, I can respect that, but if you haven't read the book (as I haven't) and believe the reviews are indicative of the quality of the book, I don't respect that.

My guess is that Harbaugh appreciated the insight into his college coach, who he spent a lot of time around. I enjoyed the book when I read it before the Free Press Jihad, it's just unfortunate that the author subsequently went on a personal vendetta against Michigan's coach.

Lloyd wanted RR out and has somebody snitch to Rosenberg

Rosenberg hopes to uncover Watergate 2, but instead gets 15 extra minutes of stretching

Michigan fans turn on Rosenberg, who then moves on to SI

RR is fired and Lloyd's boy Hoke is hired

Hoke doesn't win games and is fired

Habaugh (with the expressed endorsement of Lloyd and Gary and Moeller) is hired and loved

Harbaugh tries to hook up Rosenberg, since the Michigan fan base hates him, but Rosenberg was just a stooge of Lloyd

No need to give props to a guy who did such damage to the program Whether willfully or negligently or lazily, this dude and his sidekick Snyder deserve no benefits from this athletic department. Still can't understand how Snyder still roams the halls of Crisler and the Big House as if nothing happened.

Yes, I can hold a grudge quite a long while.

I thought the book was excellent. It gave those of us who didn't live through that era an excellent perspective of the rivalry and also about how Bo and Woody prepared for each other. I still recall and, yes, quote Woody from the book when he said "You win with people" in my profession as a social worker every now and then. People have every right to have ill feelings towards Rosenberg about what he did regarding RichRod and UM but he did his profession proud with War As They Knew It

It was a pretty good book. I liked it a lot. That being said, Rosenberg is a douche.

I think it is fine to recommend his book to someone, but I still dont like the guy.

How about Mitch Albom? I like his book he wrote with Bo, but dont people hate Mitch now too? I think you can appreciate a good book even if the author ends up doing some things you dont like.

John U. Bacon is the best though.

Whether he likes the book or not, getting R on his side is a good (as Bugs Bunny would say) stragedy.

Pissing off Carroll was also calculated. Goes both ways.

Fuck that. Rosenberg is a shit journalist and a foul human being and deserves every bit of criticism levied his way. No one - Harbaugh included - should ever forget that Rosenberg threw his alma mater under the bus to advance his own career/self-interest when he could have simply picked up the telephone and called his alma mater's athletic director if he thought his school's new coach wasn't accounting for practice time properly.
