OT: Jabba's last game at ND
So, will the Irish play their hearts out for Chucky against Stanford or roll over? Either way, I think they lose. I think all but two of their games have come down to the last minute. With 5 losses and this one (UCONN) a crusher, I think they play ok for a half but get run over by Gearhart in the 2nd half.

I don't know if that slow entrance on the field is a tradition they have for the last home game or something, but if it was a "play" Charlie "drew" because he knows it was his last as a HC, how selfish and pathetic! You could see he had teary eyes. Almost looking like a sad puppy, but if 5 years and plenty of good recruiting can't get it done, he can only blame himself. Add the fact they lost, and he looks like an ass right now.

It was senior day, and he was greeting all of the players personally and teared up afterwards. He's an idiot in a lot of ways, but I don't think this was one.

Have they been doing that every last home game, or was it a first today? If it's something they do regularly, I take my comments back.

It was new today, but it was not Weis's idea. Clausen and "two other guys" (Clausen's words, postgame) brought Weis into it, not the other way around. Weis didn't do it to grandstand...the players did it to show support.

At least they didn't pull out the green uni's for UCONN.

ND is the cockiest 6-5, with your coach about to be fired and maybe make a bowl game played before Christmas, team in history.

I think of the "decided schematic advantage" bit, and the "now it's x's and o's time", and all his other pompous comments over the last few years, and I think - yeah, that is one insufferable gasbag they got down there.
But you'd have to have a heart of stone not to see that guy walk out on to the field, blank face and dead eyes, knowing that his last fragile hope of survival had just vanished with the UConn loss. This was his life's dream job and in five short years he completely f***ked it up.
Of course, $18 million will buy him some pretty fine single malt scotch to soften the blow....

It's hard to feel sorry for a guy walking off with a payoff in excess of 380 times my annual salary (with two kids I have mind you) in addition to what he's already been paid. Arrogant fat man. Try practicing some humility for once bitch tits Charlie!

I really didn't get any satisfaction watching the man see his still-beating heart ripped from his chest.
But then I always remember how much these guys are paid for what they actually offer mankind, and my sympathy vanishes. I enjoy sports, but the salaries are really ridiculous.

Are we really hosting those dudes for our stadium opener next fall? Aye. . .

I switched to the UConn - ND game and told my wife were were scouting our next two opponents, but there will probably be a coaching change in South Bend prior to our game there next September.

think the Irish intentionally sabotaged their own national championship hopes because they are worried about having to carry Weis around on the field?
I just hope he joins the Bears and be the O coordinator and help Cutler stop what he has been doing in the last 10 games, because he has thrown more red zone interceptions than Brady did in his entire 10 yr career. I think it will be fun to see Weis back in the NFL frankly.

We've been thinking in the wrong direction. Not Kelly or Gruden. Not even Stoops can fill those pants. ND needs to look elsewhere. I have a suggestion and it's only half-joking.

Kelly, Gruden AND Stoops could fill those pants, they just have to learn to walk together in Weis' oversized pants. That's not a pretty picture though..like a 3 legged race gone bad or something.
Maybe it is just a bad year to be a hefty coach, but they can always give sumo wrestling a try.
