I keep seeing this is a response to others saying its not great to be so jubialant about Hoke's (probable/hopeful) dismissal.

Sure, he's going to get a lot of money after he's gone. More money to not coach UM than most of us will see, ever.  But then again, most of us don't have our faliure's talked about on message boards, on ESPN, on the radio, and everywhere else. If most of us got fired from our dream job, very few people except our loved ones would know about it.

So if we are going to try to bring "perspective" by saying that the man makes a lot of money so he will be fine, let's also have the perspective that its still a man losing his job, probably having to move his family, and have his failure on his mind for a long time.

I'm no Hoke apologist, I think he should be gone, for sure. But the whole, "well he makes a lot of money" schtick seems a touch, I dont know, petty. Like him or not, lots of money or not, he's probably not going to feel good about it. You don't have to pity the man, but I guess you don't really need to just wave off the fact he's probably bummed.

Not to say I don't feel for the guy, but I would gladly take 4 years of coaching a football team no so well for $4 million a year + a $3 million a year buyout.  You can blast me publically all you want, because I would have made 19 million dollars in 4 years.  Say I the stupidest mf'er in history.  Say my mother wears combat boots.  Say whatever.  I wouldn't care--I would have set up my entire family finactally for the next 100 years and hopefully longer if they aren't a bunch of fools.

I DO feel bad for Brady Hoke on a personal level because he isn't one of those jerkoff people you roo fort to fail.  But the guy isn't exactly getting a raw deal here.

double post so i'll add new thoughts:

you gotta be in it to win it.  while we're all here holding our dicks and worrying about hoke's feelings, florida is out there trying to interview chip kelly.  now will they get kelly, of course not.  but you gotta be in it to win it.  the sooner this job opens the sooner we can start interviewing coaches.

Agreed.

Based on performance the firing is justified but it's terrible to see a guy fail at his dream job. Clearly, Michigan holds a special meaning for Brady Hoke and it's sad to see him not be able to fulfill his hopes for the role. The 11-2 season, "this is Michigan", those things brought people together. The consistent decline in wins; that pushed them apart.

Hopefully one day, like the great Gary Moeller (who was forced out for a different reasons) Hoke will be embraced by the Michigan fanbase.

Best of luck to him.

Can't have Hoke around with guys who knew him as HC.

Now, 4-5 years from now, when this year's freshmen have graduated and moved on, I'd have no problem with Hoke being hired on as a recruiting coordinator or even as DL coach.

But that's a bridge to cross 4-5 years from now.

Hoke really does love Michigan.  If he wanted to be be Dline coach ... maybe Harbaugh (er - the new HC) would keep him.  He did recruit very well ... and even ohio kept their former coach when Slurban took over ...

Go Blue!

Hopefully this is it. I'm thankful that there will be less controversy with this transition. By that I mean the fan base is, for the most part, all on the same page here. We all want a new coach.
