how-bout picking a Fan-HC for each week.  You know--  like a lottery system pick.

A Fan--  who has purchased tickets for the game.  NO Email-fan types  . . .

Well Done--  on your part.  The Hire of Nuss was The SALIENT Event of the off-season.

The Borges-Nuss dynamic is SELF-Evident.

And yet--  this dynamic is not even mentioned.  Not on this board anyway  . . .

No one else has any experience running scheme, and I think we can now all accept that this is a necessary precondition of successfully running this team. If we're going for a coordiantor, Mattison is obviously preferable, but as others have pointed out, may not accept.

As for Nuss, our offense stinks, but a good percentage of it may be because Hoke is shackling him. If he gets the chance to run the offense unshackled, we may--MAY--see improvement. Or not. But can it really be worse than it is now? I guess it can, but not by much.

Is this a great idea? No. But when you're talking interim coaches, you are already past considering great ideas, and just want someone to stop the bleeding until you can come up with a real solution. And Nuss might respond positively to the opportunity, figuring that his stock has plummeted and this is a chance to audition for a job--if not this one, than at least something somewhere. Again, not a great idea, but we're currently performing like a team that will end up 2-10 and looking for someone who can make 6-6 plausible again.

The best option, of course, would be if Lloyd Carr stepped in. No one else can unite the fanbase, light a fire under the players and tell Brandon where he can stick it. With Chad's illness, though, I have a hard time seeing this happen. But who knows--maybe in that kind of situation you need something to do. Obviously everyone who cares about Michigan understands and respects Lloyd's priorities in this situation, whatever they are.

People think that nuss sucks are out of your minds. I mean comon guys, he led Bama's offense to a national championship while producing a record-setting QB among several other notable career accolades. He's been here for 5 games and took over a dumpster fire of an offense. Plus for all we know, Hoke is keeping him cuffed. He also doesnt have any of his own offensive staff to help him, just the guys that have been here and seem to also be the cause of this dumpster fire offense. I guarantee if we lose him he will go on to have a VERY successful coach elsewhere and we will be kicking ourselves in the nuts.

Experienced. More importantly he doesnt want the job. He has zero loyalty to coaches or Brandon. He is respected and can recruit. If not available to current family situation then Gary Moeller.

Mattison. And I call him an HC candidate if he's interested. If not I hope the next HC retains him because he is the most valuable coach on staff.

Not sure about who the interim coach should be but we should make Hutch the AD. She would clean up Brandon's mess in short order. I know Hutch and Red are not the AD type but I would love to see the non BS approach either of them would bring back.

Carr or Roy Manning - yes Roy Manning.  He's young enough to relate to the players.  He's a former player that understands the tradition and will unite the fanbase obviously not like Carr though.  He is a primary recruiter of about half of 2015 commits.  He would allow Nuss & Mattison to do their own thing. My two cents.

I will support Lloyd Carr as the interim HC as long as he does not have a say on who the permanent hire is.  However, I highly doubt Lloyd will take the role as he may want to dedicate his time to his family at this point.  In addition, taking the interim role may leave a bad taste with Hoke, which is something Lloyd would like to avoid.

I can see Mattison taking the interim HC title if he gives up the day-to-day DC role.  Mattison may be grossly overworked already, with all the gameplanning, recruiting, and position coaching responsibilities.

Lloyd Carr's 4 year old grandson Chad has an inoperable brain tumor. There is no priority higher than being with his family right now. To even suggest otherwise is wrong on so many levels.
