OT: Friday Posbang
Happy Friday to all!
Here's a little Jake Ryan to get your day started.
I don't like coming to work for 40+ hours every week. I cannot imagine 40 straight hours of labor. Best of luck to you and your wife for a safe delivery and healthy baby.
She's a champ tho, way tougher than I will ever be, I'm just ready already!
May these million MGoPoints guide your wife and child safely through today and this weekend.
Your good wishes are much appreciated!
here's to mgowife and new child coming through like champs.
NOW I see where all those points came from.
Congrats again, BlastDouble, to both you and your wife!
Gotten caught up on your sleep yet?
"My sister was in labor for SIXTEEN hours...I don't even want to do anything that feels GOOD for sixteen hours." Rita Rudner
apparently not, or you're posting from a local shelter. hope new house is safe from the fire.
My wife was in labor for 24 hours with our first child with contractions 5-7 min apart over that entire duration. My drive from work to home to the hospital (U-M Medical Center FTW!) was more than a bit nerve racking. Needless to say, she was completely worn out by the time our daughter was born.
I've been in labor for 9 hours total for 3 kids! I am pretty wimpy, though. Today is day two of Frankenmuth yard sales. I was excited to make $520 in the rain yesterday. Although my hubby reminds me that I "make" nothing, only "recoup" some. Quit rainin' on my parade, hubby!!!
And that is my fave Jake Ryan play. I often go back and read his Hello post. It's good stuff.
And told him how much money you saved?
I'm heading to the World Expo of Beer festival in Frankenmuth on Saturday. Are you telling me there's a city-wide yard sale event going on also? When do people open up? Is it happening Sunday also?
My GF loves to walk around and browse...gotta keep the lady happy. Thanks for any info.
Best of luck, and hope your wife doesn't BlastDouble, or you'll have your hands full.
If its a boy though, I hope he has a MEAN blast double leg!
make you think of that?
I am such a juvenile today...I mean even more than normal.
a blast double is a variation of a double leg takedown in folkstyle/freestyle wrestling.
Has your wife by any chance ever had any procedures up in that area? My wife had pre-cancerous cells removed a long time ago. Fast forward to a couple years ago, she goes into labor. We go to the hospital, they admit her, then wait for several hours with no progress (with regard to dialation). Then one of the doctors decides to help things along by making a small incision into the scar tissue leftover from the procedure done to her years back. Then boom, water breaks, dialates to full within an hour or so, baby comes out about an hour later.
The scar tissue was holding everything back from stretching like it's supposed to, and my wife was adamant about not having a c-section so things got pretty tense for a little while.
It has been a long week. Looking forward to drinking till I'm in a haze and then spew! :)
We just started watching this show. I didn't want to, but I have to admit, it can be pretty clever!
Happy Friday(!) I am going to MAKE my own beer and DRINK my own beer (not the same beer).
well if you do discover a way to brew and ferment in the same day, please pass this info along ASAP.
A group of us thirty-somethings are going skating for people 25 and up. It's gonna be hilarious!
I am surrounded by my progeny and it is apparent they expect something from me. Too bad for them I have not consumed enough coffee.
This weekend will be a continuation of the massive vegetable operation now going on in my yard - if it warms up a bit, some of the stuff we started indoors might find its way outside. That my kids have kept interest in this exercise this far into it is quite amazing to me, and hopefully, they begin to get the appreciation for how not everything comes in a bag of flash frozen things. My son has expressed interest in planting the tomatoes in "his" spot - now I have to explain that this is where we planted onions, unless of course he is trying to tell me that he dislikes onions.
I also intend to introduce my daughter to more offerings of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and try to get her to not request the same five episodes over and over, although to be fair, her tastes are quite good. Among the ones on her playlist are "Skydivers" (which has the hilarious industrial arts short), "Manos: The Hands Of Fate" and "Overdrawn At The Memory Bank" (Raoul Julia's finest moment it is not).
Discovered Netflix has it a while back. Went on a 3 hour bender that night.
My mom is in town, which for once is a good thing. Getting through work today, and then tomorrow, for the first time in 8 1/2 months (since my daughter was born), my wife and I are leaving town for a night sans baby. Woohoo!
I am in a really good mood this morning; just had a great talk with my students about the most positive way to defeat bullies (not being afraid of bullies, supporting (loving) the students who are picked on). Then we got into the kindness of strangers and the value of simple nod or wave hello.
things have been tough at my school lately and this reminded me of how great the job can be. I have like 20 kids who hang out in my room before school each morning and I told each of the twenty to share what we talked about with two friends today...
I'll stop rambling, but life is good, lets all posbang the shit out of each other and remember there are some great people on this planet. In fact there are far more good guys than bad guys!
jdon
I also work at a school as a Behavior Specialist, its an uphill battle my firend, but it sounds like you are doing great work. Keep fighting the good fight J!
I only need 96 more to 5000!!!!! Bang me!
Happy birthday
