i dont agree with a lot of hokes decisions but still have to maintain some confidence in his recruiting evals and practices while hes here. and they did not have this kid anywhere near the top of their board at DT. they cant just jump all over local kids who might be marginal prospects in their eyes, doubly so in years with smaller classes like 2015. hopefully these comments regarding the need to lock down average local talent that appears to be fairly low on coaches board (ie jayru campbell, alabi, moorman, etc) do not come from the same snobby faction of fans constantly bitching about winning big while never losing that elitist mentality. they need to build a deep roster of freak athletes to consistently compete with osu, msu, nd, psu etc and even begin to compete regularly on national basis...and they will never build that dominant roster by blurting "this is um, were harvard with 11 natl titles, etc," and then simply scooping up little peter and paul from around the corner just bc theyre local and bleed blue. if theyre local and also elite talents the coaches have proven theyll sign or seriously try to sign - but keep in mind its meritocracy. i have to give the coaches some room for my mental health, particularly offseason, suggest you do same. fyi - seriously nagging posters over grammar and punctuation just oozes elitist um tude
At Michigan. We are poop.
This is one of the stranger collection of posts I've read, yet I am guilty for reading every last comment in the absence of actual football news, hoping that I actually found some sliver of football news.
I miss football.
Might want to leave the snark at the door.
The offensive line depth isn't the problem with this team; it's figuring out what they have and if it works for the offense they are going to run. Just recruiting some kid because someone else is as well is a poor mindset and shows the key differene between people paid to do that for a living and fans who have nothing other than their rooting interests on the line.
Wisconsin hasn't always had studs, and there are disappointments on that line like every other team.
we may not be great now, but we've been recruiting great. A #37 OT recruit doesn't belong on Michigan's roster at this point - sorry
conference school.

I don't see how it's irrelevant. It's an in-state kid who committed to a Big Ten championship contender. I don't agree with the tone of the post, but the topic pertains pretty strongly to Michigan.
Chance Stewart was committed to Wisconsin for a while, too. Then he decommitted and ended up signing with a MAC school.
