2016 Josh Jackson (wing) Southfield, MI

http://youtu.be/cCOW-dNFBV0 This kid looks like the real deal. He is the #1 player in high school basketball for his class and in our backyard. I've read his 24/7 profile and it projects him to Kentucky or Kansas. I would think that we have to be in this kid's top group as a hometown NBA factory. This kid could really be a once in a blue moon offensive talent. Has anyone heard anything recent on this kid's feelings toward Michigan? He looks to be the biggest instate recruit since Webber.

I don't know where the idea Beilein does not want one and done players comes from. He has said many times that he would go after one and done players as long as you're a team player and about Michigan. He doesn't want me players one and done or not. Andrew Wiggins easily would have fit in. Harrison twins not so much.

If Izzo can't pull in in-state kids that grew up as fans of his teams, that's a big loss. Izzo barely recruits more than 250 miles from campus. Those kind of losses are hard to replace.

More and more local kids are going to grow up as fans of Beilein's teams instead. For now, Beilein has to cast a much wider net in recruiting. While it would be great to get a talent like Jackson, he's proven he doesn't need to.

Didn't Uconn have to sit out a tournament due to transfers and kids not graduating, or something like that.

How does Calipari get away with no one graduating?  (I know four or five guys did last year, but two transfered and two went pro).

How does that work?

We went over this in one of my sport management classes.

For example, a coach signs a 5 man class with 4 one-and-dones and a 3-star (probable 4 year player. As long as the one-and-dones leave in good academic standing and the 3-star graduates, the graduation rate is 100%.

He's been on the record saying MSU & Kentucky are his "dream schools" a year ago or so, but other than that, hasn't spoken to anybody about his recruitment. His fam/coaches don't allow him to speak to anybody. His circle is about as tight-lipped as it gets when it comes to his future.

...so if you see any of those "experts" speculate on where he'll end up, its just them making uneducated guesses. Whoever made those "crystal ball" selections are those who are comfortable talking out of their asses.

...and yea, he's the most talented scorer to come out of Michigan since The Iceman. He has "T-Mac: The Sequel" written all over him....
