Submitted by thisisme08 on

Looks like 25 years after the 1st of 2 championships, the Bad Boys are going to get the 30 for 30 documentary treatment which is set to air April 17th @ 8PM and is two hours long.

I myself am to young too remember the team but my dad still has numerous copies of the front pages of all the newspapers laying around somewhere.

I think it's been out for a while that they were going to make this 30 for 30 but I'm glad there's finally an air-time date set.

I really look forward to the how they portray the Bulls-Pistons rivalary and the imfamous walk-out in 1991 against the Bulls - especially as you usually only get a one-side view of it.  I really don't think the younger generation of NBA fans understand how big this rivalary once was.    As a Pistons fan, only 25, I respect the hell out of this rivalry even if I don't remember watching the Bad Boys.  Some of my friends are in disbelief when I root Lebron's Heat to beat the Bulls when they're in the playoffs.  I tell them about the rivalry and they seem to think it doesn't matter at all anymore.

But it's kinda hard to say Lebron couldn't play in Jordan's day, when Jordan couldn't play with that style back in the 90's. Do you guys remember how the Knicks got shafted game 3 up 2 games, or when the nets a few years later got hammered by the refs for the almighty Jordan. Jordan was a great player, but stern made sure his main man got hooked up. Not saying Lebron doesn't but it was crazy for Jordan. 29 free throws in one game I recall that's a lot of free throws for one guy in a game.

This is awesome.  I can't remember a team that better reflected the city they dwelled in.  Detroit, like the Bad Boys, were bad ass, and it's about time they got their due.
