I'd be a little surprised if Darboh won the job over Chesson, but if so, it'd be positive. I think Jehu has starter ability and he added a lot of experience.

I think Charlton will be working at the strong end now along Beyer, Poggi and Strobel.

I think at 6'4" 240 McCray will still be a MIKE. And Winovich will probably start out at SAM.

It will be interesting to see how the oline depth chart plays out. We know for the most part who's in the mix to start but I have no idea how the rest of the 2-3 deep will look.

to the reality that Michigan will lose regular season games on a regular basis.  Damn that was hard to type..but I digress.  The depth chart finally has experience, and more significantly, it has experience with hungry talent.

Yes the OL is a concern but I refuse to subscribe to the idea that it can only be 10% better this year over last.  It is my admittedly homer belief that the OL will be substantially better than last year.  With the departure of Lewan and Schofield the new crop of players can, and will, take ownership of their unit and might even make Brian a believer.

2014 will be a fun year, it might not be 1997 special, but I think it can be 2006 or 2011 special.

read the tea leaves....  you can see gedeon morphing into a star.... by midseason, remember this.  i like ross but i didnt like what i saw last year, getting engulfed by blockers...  i think youll realize gedeon's star the first game.  i recognized that ryan was our best defender, very early, too.  gedeon will improve by leaps and bounds.    im hoping ross does too.

And more of a DT problem.   The WILL in the under set is supposed to be protected and be able to freely flow and slash and make tackles.   Because of Pipkins' injury and the absence of Q in the line up, we had a 285 nose tackle in the line up who couldn't stand up to double teams very well and Ross got a lot of blockers in his face.  The was the defense is aligned, it is hard to get another guy over there to make the tackle who isn't a safety of we bleed yardage.  Hopefully with the scheme switch and the added beef along the line this will be less of an issue.

actually, you just did say I was wrong...    but its all good....    i just believe what i see.  i should have said that  gedeon WILL be our second best LB by midseason, or at least going forward... yes, with a snapshot at this moment, morgan and ross are both better... bolden too... but i guess im quantifying expected future performance, and i believe gedeon is it.  i think youll agree with me by midseason, that i had the foresight to see this.  i thought it was gonna be ross but he isnt getting bigger or growing.

1) Paskorsz is likely not on the team anymore,

2) I think Jones will get a lot of looks at the slot, as might Hayes (in other words I think there is no way Canteen and Norfleet are our only slots)

3) I think Dawson and LLT are equal at backup LT subject to what happens this spring and LTT's recovery

4) Why do you see Dymonte and Delano as even at the other safety spot?  It sure seems like it is Thomas's postion to lose

Roster by class

Sr - 10

Jr - 17

So - 26

Fr - 30

Five of our projected starters are seniors.

I know folks don't want to hear it, but this is still a young roster and 2015 will be a more realistic measure of the job our staff is doing.
