Re-air of yesterdays UM vs. msu basketball game @ 5:30 on BTN
Yesterdays game will be re-aired today at 5:30 on BTN. It is a Big Ten Classic.
The game that comes to my mind when I hear Big Ten Classic is from the 88-89 season. Illinois had beaten us twice that year, including a trouncing on our Senior Day. We met again in the Final Four and Sean Higgins put back gave us a 83-81 victory.
What game comes to your mind when you hear Big Ten Classic?

and I remember seeing Bo in front of the team after making the Final Four saying to them, "WE WANT ILLINOIS!!"
It was glorious.

The Michigan-Illinois game in the Final Four was pretty epic too, and awesome since I believe they beat us in both regular season meetings. The last ten minutes or so of the game that sent us to play Seton Hall saw the lead change hands a couple times (over 30 times throughout the game actually) but it never grew beyond four points for either team, at least not in those final minutes. For what seemed like a year, that was a nailbiter and some excellent basketball.

I think of the Fab Five's sophmore year and beating UNC in the Maui Invitational. I believe we won on a Jalen Rose put back??

I'm watching. Was there and want to relive it a bit.
Initial thought: What in the hell are Verne and Bill talking about. I can barely understand them.

ESPN Classic used to show those games back in the day. (They also showed every single heartbreaking football loss in the last 30 years). But I remember watching the final four game against Illinois on Classic, as well as the title game against Seton Hall.
And while Jamal Crawford was great, you don't really want to see many games from his playing days. His one year with us was the first year of the program's futile run to hell.

The Jamal Crawford half of that season was positively insane. Crisler was amazing. And then, of course, it went to hell.

shot right before the half was cold blooded! He turned and headed to the locker room before the shot was even down!

And he did it right in Tiny Turd's face (who almost deflected the pass form happening because he was on the court whining)

I really wish Gus Johnson was still with CBS so he could do March Madness games. He was the best doing the close games and very well-liked in general.

the refs always seem to call a block. . . . you might as well, either 1) hack the crap out of the them (prevent the 3 point play) or 2) just let them blow through. . . I've kind of felt that way since the Beautiful Burke Block of 2013

Does anyone know the song that plays as the Michigan basketball team is announced? It's playing in the background of this video:

When I think Big Ten classic, if we're merely restricting it to conference wins, I'm going with the win over Michigan State in 2006 or either of the Illinois games in '89.
Expand it to non-conference games, the Duke win in '97. Easily..

Dear Mr. Draymond Green:
This is the strangest way we've ever seen to "run the state".
Sincerely,
The rest of the state of Michigan

Haha I laughed when I heard Draymond's commnets. I laughed even harder this morning driving to work when they played an audio clip from the Pistons game last night that had Andre Drummond "facializing" Green.
