4 losses to teams ranked 3 (OSU), 8 (Bama), 9 (PSU) and 11 (Wisconsin).

Notre Dame 12 and Iowa 15 were the wins over teams ranked in final AP Poll.

We played the toughest schedule in the country and finished #12 per College Football Reference. Saying SOS doesn't matter is just being deliberately obtuse.

I'm calling bullshit

Did Notre Dame beat any teams that finished ranked??

What was their strength of schedule?

At least Iowa best Wisconsin but same questions about them.

Losing to Alabama shouldn't have dropped us; in a proper championship playoff they would've rolled.

Our schedule is our own worst enemy.  Part of that is our fault, part is the Big Ten's.

Teams 9-18 are very similar - mostly separated by who had the toughest schedule.

What would Minnesota's record be with our schedule?

College football is not a level playing field.

Michigan has nearly everything built out.  Just need an elite QB.  Yes it's Harbaugh's job to get/develop one.  In the meantime it's very nice that the roster is in great shape, especially given the RichRod/Hoke years.

The correct understanding of last night is that: elite QB play wins you the game, provided you have a talented roster.  Burrow great, Lawrence bad, game over.  Same as in our bowl game.  Same as every other game all year.
