A 13-point W over a top-25 team? I'll take that all day, every day.

Now, that said...

The offense really needs to get going here, and soon. The defense has been outstanding, but it would sure be nice to be able to get some "pullaway" a little sooner. Looking back over results from the past month or so, it sure seems to me like the "60s" is the new norm. It'd be nice if we could spin the hits from the 70s a tad more often, eh?

In any event, a very nice win. GO BLUE!

I only watched game tracker. Cant wait to see this on my DVR later.  But what happened to Poole?  He FG% was atrocious.  He is supposed to be our offensive catalyst, but he seems to be slumping at the worst time.

did he and Teske (until the end) just have an awful day?

Teske won the 1-1 battle with Bruno and Smith. Had a ton of open 3s but his legs seeded a bit heavy on the shots. Overall I would say Teske was a plus.

Poole had one strong fast break drive to break one of their runs. Aside from that he was off. Took another awful step back 3 early in the clock and did a horrible hero ball moment on the last possession of the first half. At this point he needs to be a guy who gets out on the break or waits for a set catch and shoot.

Yeah just finished watching.  Since I already knew the general gist of the game I focused on poole a lot.  He did miss two open/easy shots, and I had some really aggressive takes on those drives.  Mostly I saw him standing around a lot.  Seemed like the action was generally on the floor opposite him.  He wasnt cutting/screening much at all.

First I thought maybe he was sick/injured, but then he would flash and make one of those aggressive drives.  Maybe it just wasnt his day, but it seemed like it was part scheme and part missed opportunities that worked against his stat line today.  I did like that he facilitated and got some nice assists and kept his head up...so he was engaged mentally.

Things I liked what I saw:

1. Matthews didn’t shoot many 3’s. Lots of mid range/at hoop, this is good.

2. Z has ball in his hands by far the most. He’s only one you really feel comfortable with dribbling a lot.

3. Livers getting more minutes. With Poole, Teske, and Iggy struggling on O at times, important he gets a bit more run. He’s probably our best shooter. Plus, plays with great energy and helps on boards and fast break stuff.

4. 0 turnovers in 2nd half. More fast break points than I recall getting in many games lately.

5. Better FT shooting. Z big part of that.

The bad:

1. Still can’t shoot. Don’t see it changing any time soon, sort of are what you are.

2. Really only got 6 guys who give you much. Depth isn’t gaining much momentum.

3. Struggle rebounding at times. Frustrating, because they got the guys to do it. Just need to crash boards by all.

Teske couldn’t shoot, but he stuck with it and was clutch again.  It’s amazing how many minutes he’s giving the team.  Fernando dominated Purdue down the stretch, today he was -17 when on the court.

DeJulius is improving a great deal. I like him with the ball better than Brooks.Teske has lost his confidence in his shot. Matthew is still hot, get him the ball. Poole stands around a lot and needs to keep moving to get open. Zavier is the straw that stirs the drink MVP.
