Crisler tonight
I've had season tickets for 20 years and, while Crisler can get an unfair rap, it isn't always the toughest place to play for visiting teams. So I was impressed tonight for a 9:30 game to see the place full or close to it, and the crowd going nuts (after the Matthews' dunk it really got going). It reminded me of some of the battles in 2013 (OSU and MSU especially that year), and the Duke game in 2008. Anyway, it was a great win, this is a fun team to watch and I hope the crowds keep showing up.

I'm on the other side of the world and I could feel the electricity watching the game.
Go Blue!

The energy reminded me of the 86-57 MSU game last year. But some of the sustained offensive and defensive streaks tonight allowed the sound to build and build.
Before the tip-off, I was shocked by the number of UNC fans that showed up. They were incredibly confident and boisterous. But they slowly crying-jordan'd in the first half. It was a great night!

oh, man, i love that...
one of my favorite football memories is from 1993 - ohio state came in at 9-0-1, #5 in the country, and we were finishing a disappointing season. a few ohio state dudes that were friends of one of brother's housemates came to ann arbor to see the coronation, and they were crazy flapping their gums before the game. cooper was finally going to get over on us. i was dreading the next hours, but really dreading seeing them afterwards.
a few hours later, we'd kicked the holy crap out of them, and the sight of their sad, sad faces all lined up on that shitty couch was the best thing i'd ever seen.

I was at that game.
A local Columbus radio or TV station gave out red pom poms that the OSU fans brought to the game with them to celebrate their impending Queen's Coronation.
Oops.
After the game, the OSU pom poms were forlornly discarded all over the stands. I picked up one of them as a little victory trophy. I still have it.
I thought about this game in the context of the game we just had against Ohio State.
It was their version of what we just went through . . . they hadn't beaten us in years, they were finally favored, they looked strong while we looked inept, it was their legit shot at the conference title.
Then it all went south, in a loss even more humiliating than what we just went through (it was a shutout).
These things happen. Nothing is permanent.

I was there, first time since I was an undergrad, grad of '93 and boy did I pick a good one!
Ohhh and that was ME making all the nose and whistling and irritating the down in front guys. Wore Maize of course.
Oh and ran late Friday for the Michigan vs Wisconsin Hockey game and made it the 3rd period down 0-1 only to tie it in the 3rd and win in double overtime!!!
GO BLUE!!
Took my flags off my car for like 6 days... now they're back up!

I was impressed that not only was the building full for a 9:30 Wednesday night tip, but how loud it got at certain moments. It was a great night. And even though I didn’t get home until around 12:30 and am up and feeling great right now, I imagine I’ll be needing a nap at work in the afternoon, though.

As a kid, I remember UM (Tarpley, Wade, Rellford, Gary Grant, Joubert) playing Indiana for the B10 championship. The game started with a thunderous dunk by Rellford and the place went insane and stayed that way the entire game as UM destroyed Bob Knight's Hoosiers. Even back in the 80s, the place could get loud.

I was at that game. You're right - it was really loud on that night. That night was one of my favorite U-M basketball memories. After the game, my wife and I went to Thano's Lamplighter on Liberty, and most of the team as well as Frieder, Fisher came in. I shook Coach F's hand and congratulated him on the win.

Check out the Gary Grant thunder dunk at 12:00, and the Michigan five on zero fast break at 20:30.

Watching on TV here, but you could almost feel the place shaking and I am 20 miles away. There are times where I would turn the volume down after baskets as it was LOUD and I didn't want to wake anyone up. You're right that it sometimes gets a bad rap, but last night it was almost as fun to watch the crowd as it was to watch the team work North Carolina rather well.

I was there last night. I don't go to many games, but have been gone to games there during pretty much every era back to Johnny Orr. Crisler was as loud and boisterous as I've ever heard/seen it. It was a TON of fun and worth every penny I spent on the ticket. This team has a huge upside this season.

you could feel it through the tv, too - after the matthews dunk, dan shulman said "apparently there was a foul on the play, but you couldn't hear the whistle."
in crisler.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT'S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW.

What was truly amazing is that I didn't really hear that particular whistle watching on TV either. I can't imagine how much louder it was actually inside the arena. Great stuff. Need an equally participatory crowd on Saturday as well. Let's open the conference season with a bang against a really good opponent. The Purdue games last season were epic.
