Jeff Brohm Update: Louisville recruits told to expect him as next Head Coach

So Hackett was calling recruits telling them that he expected to hire Jim Harbaugh as the next coach? Seems unlikely.

Well, this could be some sweet news in an otherwise dreary week!

Where there’s smoke, there’s George Karlaftis in Maize and Blue!

Louisville wants him, and their AD and boosters will make it happen. Not sure why all the doubt, as this was a done deal soon as they fired Petrino.

I agree with you, however never underestimate the opinion of the wife. She loves West Lafayette. Brohm will still be in Louisville in the end, but there's a chance Brohm stays. Happy wife as they say...

Mrs. Brohm would be the only person in history ever to love West Lafayette. :)

Maybe she doesn't want to be too close to the in-laws!

West Lafayette Indiana. She wants to stay in West Lafayette Indiana? No offense to the Midwest or Indiana, but really? I mean it’s no South Bend...

Now it’s reported that there is no scheduled meeting for Brohm and Purdue players and that Purdue has extended an offer that exceeds Louisville’s offer.
November 28th, 2018 at 12:17 PM ^
So let’s say Brohm leaves.
Is Karlaftis to UM a “lock”? I’ve seen mention that he’s ours if Brohm leaves. Where does this come from? Is it possible he stays or goes to Louisville?

He’s from West Lafayette and Purdue has a pretty good coach. That’s all.
Brohm stays- Stay home and play for the resurging hometown team.
Brohm goes- go play for an established program that’s known for a pretty decent defense and sending D-Lineman to the league.

Sam Webb has said it's a lock. Karlaftis has said he's making backup plans in case Brohm leaves and Michigan is the main school he's shown interest in. Louisville seems like it would be a real long shot.

This makes me sad. A strong Purdue equals a far more balanced and interesting Big Ten.
Would love to get Karlaftis of course.

Keeping us all in suspense - holding out for more money, probably. But - how could you forget the children?

Here's something I'm guessing not too many people are thinking about: I wonder what this means, if anything, for Rondale Moore. He had to have committed specifically to Brohm. Otherwise there's no way he would go to Purdue when programs like Georgia, OSU, PSU, and Texas also offered him. He's not from West Lafayette so there was no hometown loyalty angle.
I'm guessing Purdue will probably try to hire from within and get someone who will keep the same relative system, but if they have to go external and hire someone with a completely different offensive philosophy, I wonder if this convinces Moore to look elsewhere. He is a proven playmaker and did some pretty amazing things this year. As a true freshman, no less. Will he want to stick around and risk Purdue going right back around to where it was under Hazell, which is a very real possibility. If Purdue hires someone from Brohm's staff, I could see him staying. But if they go get someone else, I wonder if he looks elsewhere as well.
Moore is from Louisville, so who knows? Maybe he follows Brohm there.

Page back to fishgoblue1 for his rumor.

Did anyone tell Louisville that Brohm was the recipient of the O'Kornening?

He will stay at Purdue and we will lose George. We just can't have nice things.
