B1G East Division Co-Champions

Unfortunately, it's just co. But Michigan did win their first division championship in program history.

With both Michigan and OSU at 8-1, both are declared East Division Champions with the tiebreaker obviously going the way it did. This is per the B1G rules. Their website had a release up after we beat Indiana that stated we clinched at least a share of the title.

B1G record books have a table of division titles as well.

Michigan will receive a B1G East Division trophy for its accomplishment.

Yes, what happened was very VERY disappointing last weekend, but look at the whole body of work this season.

Is this all that different from 2000 when Michigan, Purdue and Northwestern all tied for the Big Ten title? Michigan lost to both and gave up a ton of points and lost the Rose Bowl tiebreaker to Purdue.

Jack Harbaugh even had some words to say about the title on The Harbaugh Podcast, saying a banner should be put up.

And before OSU trolls laugh, well..........they celebrated theirs in 2015 so hard they made t-shirts for it:

We're finally on the board with a division title and let's use it as a stepping stone to an OUTRIGHT Division Championship in 2019. Go Blue

It’s true, they did get a trophy at the end of the day.  The haters will say what they always do but screw em.  Go Blue, Always.

It's frustrating that in the 8th year of the Big Ten having a championship game, there has been 7 teams that have gotten to play in Indy, and we haven't been one of them.  Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, and now Northwestern will have had the privilege of playing in it.  Look at the list of teams that has not been along with us: Maryland, Rutgers, Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, and Illinois.  We're not in very good company in that aspect, as we've had plenty of seasons that are far and away from each of those teams best seasons.  I know a lot of that has to do with division unbalance but it's so frustrating nonetheless.

I don't agree with the people hating on the co-division championship. While it does feels a bit hollow because Michigan didn't have the tie breaker, they're also one of only three teams to get through the Big Ten with only one loss this year. NU surely doesn't feel less of a division champ because they lost to us.

Also Michigan fans nor a Ohio state uninversity fans didn't win anything, the players did, if the players think the trophy is meaningless it's their call but I'm not going crap on what they accomplished.

If that idiot Maryland QB could hit a wide open WR on that 2pt conversion, then Michigan would be playing for the B1G championship this weekend, no matter what.

We don't get to say a damn thing about OSU losing to Purdue....Its just as tacky as when MSU brings up us losing to Ap St the same year we beat them. This bs trophy is a gut punch! It should be buried! I still support this team and Harbaugh, but the trophy is undeserved.

Nobody actually goves a shit about winning “division championships.” You either get to the conference championship or you don’t.

The whole body of work was beating up on a dogshit big ten then folding against the one good team. Gtfo with this shit.

So you are so desperate for any type of championship that you don't mind a participation trophy. What do you care about? Is it  winning the big game or getting a consolation trophy?

If Maryland had made the 2 point conversion against OSU, there wouldn't be any co for east division and we'd be going to Indy Saturday to kick Northwestern's ass for the BTN CHAMPIONSHIP. For those of you pulling for OSU, leading up to THE GAME, so we'd have a higher rated win in Columbus, think again. We haven't won a BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIP in 15 years yet many of you didn't value it out of paranoia about CFP.

If UM blocked and tackled and covered receivers, they might have an outright trophy. Ifs are for losers along with participation trophies. If it means that much, enjoy it. tOSU is not talking East division trophy, but victory in the game and playing in the conference championship. Have you been reduced to unsubstantiated guarantees and what ifs.
