MGoWallpaper: The Murderwolf Trophy

Murderwolf has always been here. That includes all the way back to 1898 when the University of Michigan and Michigan Agricultural College first faced off in a game of football. It wasn't until 1953 that the "Murderwolf - Governor of Michigan Trophy" (or simply the "Murderwolf Trophy") was introduced.

At first, neither school wanted the trophy. Michigan didn't care about the game that much and Michigan State felt the "Murderwolf" too closely resembled a wolverine. Eventually, the trophy started changing hands and the scores were engraved. No one really knows where the "Murderwolf" concept came from.

Kidding aside, the Murderwolf has been a hilarious side-story this season. I've had a blast seeing all the creative things people have done with it. I have been contributing to the meme on Twitter but thought it was time for something a little more special for State week.

So here's the Murderwolf in his biggest role yet: The Paul Bunyan Trophy. I have 4K widescreen and mobile wallpapers below. Go Blue and Beat State!

Nice try but it seems almost everyone is running with the misspelling.   MurderWolf makes absolutely no sense in terms of Michigan football but good luck trying to stop that snowball now.  Just look at the comments below congratulating on the mistake.

tidbit, after this episode i never watched walking dead again. thought negan was a ridiculous character who could only sway back and forth in his leather jacket and shout "Rick!". and when the eyes popped out i just had seen enough, finally reached my limit of "why are they still wandering back and forth through the woods fighting people after all this time?" like ffs go to a city and settle into a condo building, fire up a power plant, take over a military base, go live on an island with no zombies, anything but the georgia swampforest full of vagrants, criminals, murderers, and apparently no grocery stores opening up in 5 years.

Anyone else think we need to get Winovich to put on the Murderwolv mask to end that hype video of him they play in the stadium?  The one where she's screaming at the camera like he's a werewolf or something?  We need that for the PSU game...

I like the Murderwolf for this blog, but the chubby guy standing outside the gate at the stadium with the headgear is just embarrassing.  Friends of mine loudly yelled, "we finally have a mascot!" at a game earlier this year, and, while they were kidding, it was even more embarrassing.

It's times like this when I'm thankful for the down-in-front crowd to prevent the chubby guy's extended childhood from becoming reality.  Ours is a non-mascot identity.

Stand the chubby guy next to the winged helmet storm trooper and I'll feel better... hey... maybe the Murderwolf is actually Captain Michigan, disgraced cowbell guy from days of yore.  Anybody ever seen them in the same room together?
