Playing for THE GAME To Decide the Division

Here are the division standings:

1. Ohio State 4-0

1. Michigan 4-0

3. Maryland 2-1

3. MSU 2-1

5. PSU 1-2

6. Indiana 1-3

7. Rutger 0-4

If Michigan beats Michigan State this weekend, the most likely scenario is that we will go into Columbus with The Game meaning what it used to mean: the winner goes on to the B1G CCG and the loser goes home.

There are a lot of important narratives to focus on going into this game, but I think the most exciting is that Michigan still has complete control over its own destiny.

Last season, we had brutal injuries and a lost season, but in 2016 we went into November with complete control of our own destiny. It is looking like we will this year as well. We need to savor this. This is what it means to be a top-tier program. As November rolls around, we control our own destiny.

Whoa, slow down there partner.  Let's beat MSU first before we start talking about scenarios like this.  Other than OSU, this is our most important game this season IMO.

Maybe I’m the strange one but. Playing the game in late November has actually hurt Michigan in the long run. That is the #1 reason that Michigan and OSU are in the same division. I still believe we should play the game but earlier like mid Oct and place OSU in the other division.

Anyone who can’t see how the game is dictating the whole Big10 landscape is crazy. Wisconsin has gotten a free pass mostly because of this.

Michigan, Mich St and say Penn st on one side and OSU, Wiscy, Iowa on the other.

Kills me how we are all bunched on one side and Wiscy gets a free ride

I think it's a certainty M will play OSU for the East. There's no way M is losing to BOTH MSU and Penn State. None. And there's no way Sparty is sweeping M and OSU.

I think M is going to steamroll to 10-1. I think OSU is more likely to lose a game along the way, but that won't change the fact they'll play for the East. And M is winning.
