Ticket Giveaway for the WMU game
BUMPING SO MORE PEOPLE ARE AWARE - LSA
What: Four 40 yard line tickets to the WMU game on 9/8. I'll give away two pairs of tickets.
Story: These season tickets have been in my family since the 1920s when my grandfather attended Michigan. My Dad - George Martin - also a Michigan alumnus, has attended games since the 1950s. I have gone to games since 1990, but now I live in New York and generally only get out to a single game each year. He is now, unfortunately, living with Alzheimers and can no longer attend games. To celebrate my father and fathers in general, I've decided to donate or gift most of my tickets for the coming years on his behalf. The MGoBlog community will be the recipient of tickets to one of the games each year.
Requirements and Rules:
1) You attend the game with your father OR you are a father and attend with your son or daughter.
2) If you win, you make a donation to NAMI: The National Alliance on Mental Illness, a cause important to my father and our family. Donate whatever you feel comfortable with.
3) Enter by replying on this thread. Deadline is midnight at the end of Friday, August 17th.
4) One entry per person.
5) I'll use a random number generator to pick two winners of two tickets each and announce those winners in the thread at noon on Saturday.
6) Winners will have 24 hours to acknowledge that they see they've won.
I'm not sure the best way to get the tickets to the winners. Please post if you have a good way to do that. Worst case, I'll just post my phone or email and we'll move forward that way.

I would love to take my son to his first game. Thank you for the shot at it.

Would love to take my 11 year old. This would be my/our first Michigan game. Your generosity is extraordinary. I watched my maternal grandmother whither way at the hands of Alzheimer's. I cannot imagine losing someone closer, such as you with your father. If prayers bring you comfort, please know I am lifting you and your father.

My dad and I have been going to games since the 80's...He is a Michigan Alum and I am a WMU Alum. Needless to say I am and always will be a die hard UM fan and will always root for them to win...even over the college I went to. WMich wins the drinking game tho.

I would love to do this with my Dad.
One of my earliest memories was a Michigan game where we saw Biakabutuka play (although i was pretty young and only have a vague recollection). It was a huge reason I ended up applying and going to Michigan. Plus my dad tends to overwork himself and he could use a vacation

I would love to take one of my daughters to the game; both are big UM Football fans.
Alzheimer's is a terrible disease. Sorry to hear that your family is dealing with that.

Thanks very much for your generosity, and my heartfelt thoughts to your family and father. I cannot imagine what it's like to go through seeing any loved one - let alone your father - suffer from that disease. My best and prayers to you, friend.
If I win I will take my father, Lou. He has never been to a Michigan football game with me and it would definitely be special for both of us.

I have brought my daughter to 3 games. It's a long haul from the UP. Last game was vs. WMU and Denard scored his first TD in our endzone. Today she turned 20.

I would love to take my 17 year old daughter. My father passed away a year ago last April from Huntington's Disease after a 12 year fight. One of my proudest moments of being a Dad is that she has created a 5K in his honor, to raise money for research to help fight the disease. She raised over $2,500 last year and will top that this year. Ironically the 5K is the morning of the Western game. It would be real cool to walk in it, then head down to AA with her.
