Jay Paterno: Ohio State shouldn't rush to judgement on Urban Meyer's future

Submitted by WindyCityWolverine on

If you're Meyer and OSU, probably not the guy you want behind you. (Pun intended)

"That didn’t stop Joe Paterno’s son Jay Paterno from calling on Ohio State to “stand up to mob mentality” when it comes to making a decision Meyer’s future."

Once a slimeball.....always a slimeball.

Jay is who he is.  He has his agenda (convince folk that his Dad was mistreated by PSU when he was fired in November 2011).  And he sees this event as an opportunity to advance that agenda.

C'est la vie.  Nobody who is serious listens to him anyway.

I like how Jay points out Mcmurphy broke the story on Facebook.  Hey Jay he had to break it on social media because when ESPN was cutting staff, one of the stipulations was a non compete clause which didn't allow them to go work for other organizations.  So McMurphy on his own researched and made it public knowledge.  Imagine that a single guy taking the initiative to expose unethical behavior at a big time football program.  But Jay can't imagine that, because he and everyone else at penn state looked the other way and let a monster operate with impunity.  The opposite of what Mcmurphy did.

An friend that works in the AD at Ohio State says that the reason they never acted on it was because Courtney Smith has a streak of crazy in her past.

Both Zach and Courtney are full-blown alcoholics and had a super dysfunctional marriage. However, Courtney has shown up to OSU practices before drunk and threatening to blow up the whole building, and has called 911 an outrageous amount of time claiming each time that Zach was at her house harassing her when the latter was found to be at work. The police have pulled her over drunk as well and she would claim that Zach was chasing her, but he was at work. After a while, people stopped taking her seriously. The university is still mulling over a 3-4 game suspension for Urban just from a public optics standpoint.

You just repeated the same "damage control" story (almost word for word) that  Urban and/or his supporters sent out.  (See "Urban getting his message out" on the message board.)  The story is full of victim blaming and obvious inaccuracies (the police got sick of "crazy Courtney" and stopped responding to her 911 calls?  I don't think so..)  There are things that are probably bald face lies which can easily be verified.   Some of the more fanatic fans might believe this, but the decent ones (they are there, and I know them...) are disgusted by this tactic.

And I might ask why Urban kept a "raging alcoholic" on his staff.  It doesn't add up.
