Losing to Penn State (55th RPI) would be bad. We need to take all four of those games.

the expectation should be to win all four....taking one of two from Minnesota would be nice

Whistle, no goal!

no penalty...no goal either, but how that wasn't a penalty is amusing

It's OT, run into the goalie all you want.

I missed most of the game, and I just saw the replays going into overtime. Can someone explain why the near-goal where the Wisco player batted the puck out of the crease with his hand, behind the goalie? I thought the rule was hand on the puck in the crease = penalty shot. Is that not the case in college, missed call, or what?
Also, how is that not a penalty? He elbowed Nagelvoort into the back of the net?

penalty shot if the player covers the puck in the crease

Shootout.

2-2
does anyone know the point distribution for a shootout win and loss in the B1G?
February 1st, 2014 at 9:26 PM ^
Looks like: win - 3; so win - 2; so loss - 1; loss - 0.
FWIW this system makes a ton more sense to me than the NHL system which hugely incentivizes being hugely defensive at the end of regulation in a tie.

D'oh! Guptill lost the puck.

a win + 2 points for B1G standings, a tie for the Pairwise
February 1st, 2014 at 9:36 PM ^
Stupid Rumpill salvaged them a point in the Big Ten and a tie in the Pairwise. Really strong weekend I thought. Still can't really finish, but I thought it was more the goaltending this weekend unlike in the past when it was just missing the net or having shots blocked or what not. Got I think 41 on net?
And man, Naglevoort. So, so strong.

A little off topic but it appears there is a new rule at Yost. The kids on the Zamboni were not wearing their shoes and I didn't see any shoes get thrown on the ice. Yesterday the kids threw their shoes. It looks like DB may have killed off one of my favor parts of intermission. Did anyone else notice?
