Hjalte Froholdt to Arkansas
RT @TremendousUM: Hearing that 2015 DT Hjalte Froholdt has committed to #Arkansas over #FloridaState and #Michigan @jcshurburtt

Other than Settle getting his first exposure to UM with the trip with Hand to UTL 2, there is really no buzz on Settle heading to UM so speculation of him on our DL at this point is a bit useless.

At the thought of people in Arkansas pronouncing his name.
But, good luck to the kid.

Hey there goes Jal-tee Froho!

Does this mean attention shifts to Tim Settle now? Also Arkansas? WTF?

Whoever is out there that saw the Ohio game should realize we badly need size and power up front and whoever sees this should realize they have a good shot at playing early. All D line recruits, Michigan is definitely the place to be if you want a professional coach, playing time, and a degree from one of the world's top universities.
I hope Bryan Mone turns out to be an absolute beast - and Mr. McDowell, we do need a beast of an end as well.

I'm still interested in what Maurice Hurst might someday do, in addition to Mone and Pallante. We have a few large young gentleman who could eat runs after Pip/Henry graduate.

Henry is a frosh, so we have him for a while, and I'll be very surprised if Mone isn't a monster. I'm also interested in Hurst (and his classmate Poggi) so I don't think we're in bad shape at all. And Ryan Glasgow is a sleeper who could be a solid contributor with 3 years of eligibility left.

I have to say I am impressed with Henry as a frosh and hope that Pip will be back and living up to his potential next year. It was sad seeing him go out and I wonder how he would have played deep into the season this year. I think we all realize like Hoke does that we need violence and aggression up front - and violence and aggression at 3 levels due to the way these guys rotate in and out.
The other thing we really need is more speed on D.

I don't know... Mone bulked up for his senior year, and it took some quickness out of him. He probably needs to lose a little bit of weight. I don't think he's athletic enough to be the next Ndamukong Suh, but maybe I'm wrong.

I know we all liked Froholdt (to some extent) but DL is not exactly a spot our coaches have had an issue recruiting. Sure, we missed Hand. But our DL recruiting has been as good as any position group.
December 2nd, 2013 at 6:13 PM ^
yeah they have some bodies on DL and some touted young kids , most unproven to date. they desparately need violent athletic big guys to rush the passer and win 1on1s in run game. maybe theyre already on roster but havent played? who knows. is this kid the answer? prob not. but if we all watched the same team this year, capped off by hydes 10 YPC, then its pretty evident UM currently lacks those ever vital impact DL. those guys played a very good OSU line but still got bullied. safeties were awful in run support but hopefully 1-2 of the 10 DBs from past few classes step up there....but impact DL will always be priority......

Tim Settle, come on down.
December 2nd, 2013 at 5:26 PM ^
The insiders don't really think that Michigan will go after Settle. He was kind of along for the ride with Hand, but Michigan hasn't really shown much interest.

Bad news doesn't even phase me anymore.
