10/26: Night Games Open Thread
A very good slate of games tonight...
7:00 PM | No. 12 UCLA at No. 3 Oregon
7:00 PM | No. 21 South Carolina at No. 5 Missouri
7:00 PM | No. 8 Baylor at Kansas |
8:00 PM | Penn State at No. 4 Ohio State |
10:30 PM | No. 6 Stanford at No. 25 Oregon State |
Also...Oklahoma/Texas Tech had a hour and a half delay so they're only in the 3rd quarter. However, they'll be switching the game to FOX News because the World Series at 7:30p.

They picked up the targettng flag...good for them. Worst rule in college football.
Oregon is moving the ball but UCLA is HITTING.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:08 PM ^
Any rule that is put in place that comes with an automatic replay needs to be reconsidered. Isn't that basically saying we are pretty sure we are going to get this wrong, a lot. And the 15 yards that stand either way makes my brain hurt. Imagine trying to explain it to someone watching football for the first time.
So after the the review it is concluded that there wasn't a foul, and the 15 yard penalty stands?
You would get a lot of confused looks.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:13 PM ^
You shouldn't be kicking out a player, these guys don't get paid...they only have 4 years to play football and the likelihood is that many only get 2 years to play after sitting and waiting for their chance.
To take a game away is ridiculous. Now if it's intentional, if it's blantant, then of course...toss the guy. But helmet to helmet contact is going to happen in football. Flag the guy and move on. Ejecting these kids is a f-ing joke.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:05 PM ^
I need like 8 TVs to watch all this sports goodness...
October 26th, 2013 at 8:10 PM ^
38-30 OU...Texas Tech has a 1:17 to drive down the field and score and get 2 to take it to OT.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:11 PM ^
Nice to see "youth" isn't an excuse for the UCLA line starting 3 true freshman on it. That OL has improved since the season started. I'm glad someone could do it.....
October 26th, 2013 at 8:19 PM ^
It's a joke. UCLA is starting 3 freshman Oline. VT had a freshman CB with 3 INTs.
It's football, at some point you have to shut up and play.
Makes me question our development a little bit...the fact that Green isn't doing much and Thomas has been virtually invisible concerns me. Ross has also been just "okay" this year.
I do like the way Bosch played, but it was Indiana.
The poor OL play is disturbing...I'm watching all of these games and no one (but Kansas) is struggling to run the ball like we have for most of this year.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:41 PM ^
doing this? If this were common place and a lot of teams were winning playing so many young players you guys might have a point. As we don't have any data that proves this I must go with UCLA being an outlier.
Btw, UM and UCLA have the same record.

this is a dumb comment.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:14 PM ^
Knocks off undefeated Texas Tech. Gus Johnson is screaming...
October 26th, 2013 at 8:15 PM ^
finally finishes off Texas Tech 38-30. Entertaining game.

October 26th, 2013 at 8:20 PM ^
Yup...have taken some rather stupid losses trying to MANBALL teams into submission.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:19 PM ^
October 26th, 2013 at 8:21 PM ^
Furman is giving LSU a game - it's 20-13 in the second quarter.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:21 PM ^
For those that want to see them in action...
October 26th, 2013 at 8:23 PM ^
October 26th, 2013 at 8:26 PM ^
Have to settle for a FG.
They're off pace for 100. Oh well. Looks like a mere 70+ again. BOOOORING!
October 26th, 2013 at 8:24 PM ^
Watching OSU march down the field make me even more irate with Borges. That guy is going to contnue to cost the team games as long as he is employed.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:27 PM ^
...until the game is over. It's a trend in our losses. We just do the same thing over and over.
October 26th, 2013 at 10:17 PM ^
I think I read somewhere (Borges presser last year maybe?) that they only use about 13 different plays in a game. It seemed low then, and it seems low when I reiterate it now. But I think he fails to adjust based on the fact that he only uses a very small set of the overall plays in our offensive arsenal.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:27 PM ^
OSU has had one drive. They're also playing at home, not in front of a hostile crowd of 107,000.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:31 PM ^
Can't compare PSU/OSU to PSU/Michigan.
But it doesn't mean the play calling in our game wasn't atrocious.
Don't think many of us will get over that game unless we beat Ohio twive and win the Rose Bowl. And how likely is that to happen?
PSU would have ruined our undefeated season, but even if we were undefeated this year...we weren't going to the NC game so just win the conference and win the Rose Bowl.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:33 PM ^
Look, we have our issues, I'm not denying that, but why does every gamewatch thread have to become hijacked into an all-purpose "Bitch about Michigan" thread? Let's just watch these games and not obsess about the million things that our coaches could potentially be doing but aren't.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:31 PM ^
And they did the things to PSU defense that everyone watching the game was screaming at their TV for and put the ball in the endzone.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:37 PM ^
the more idiotic Borges looks.
I'm still not watching Michigan until he's no longer calling plays. No mas.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:49 PM ^
October 26th, 2013 at 8:52 PM ^
I can send just as many Concern Rays to help the team while watching as while not watching. As soon as I saw bubble screen pump fakes in the IU picture pages I knew he hadn't changed one bit post-PSU. I'm not dealing with that stubborn garbage.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:28 PM ^
Good game.
Mizzou is up 14-0 over S. Carolina.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:28 PM ^
Baylor should have paid for a skywriter to show up in Lawrence and write SURRENDER CHARLIE in the sky above the stadium.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:38 PM ^
Kansas does not yet have 100 yards (85, to be exact), whereas Baylor has 500 yards. The Bears also have 20 first downs to 6 for the Jayhawks. Apparently, this is the Schematic Advantage merely studying Baylor, or so I assume. That, or it is Baylor simply underlining the sh*tshow that seems to be Kansas football lately.
....and it is 38-0 now. Wow.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:29 PM ^
October 26th, 2013 at 8:32 PM ^
You do realize we will line up 2TE and run straight power the entire game. To hell with throwing the ball.......OSU must be MANBALLED into submission.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:35 PM ^
I seem to recall that it was one Al Borges whose offense put up 40 on Ohio - the most we've scored on them in 60 years - in 2011.
Let's stop turning this into a "Bitch about Michigan" thread.

October 26th, 2013 at 8:32 PM ^
I like Funchess vs. Ohio.
I like Funchess and Dileo next week as well.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:33 PM ^
Dileo will go wild next week with between 1~3 catches on 1~3 targets. It'll be crazy.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:36 PM ^
But MSU is vulnerable in the slot...hopefully we use him. He's been non-existant this year.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:39 PM ^
I agree and that was my point. I don't think he'll be utilized nearly enough. Hope I'm wrong.
October 26th, 2013 at 9:06 PM ^
Will there be subs?
October 26th, 2013 at 8:32 PM ^
FIRST: Baylor vs. Kansas should not be included in the OP as one of the good slate of games tonight. With that being said,
Go PSU.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:37 PM ^
Because many people haven't seen their offense.
If you look at the thread, it's clear some folks are watching (or maybe it's only me)
...BTW, they just scored again.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:34 PM ^
Heads up.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:38 PM ^
Heads down.

He's always been inconsistent. That said, glass houses.
We should be the last to talk. Devin, when he has time and he's on...is a much better passer. Miller is the better runner and has an offense that exposes his skills.
Both are two of the top 7-8 most talented, maybe top 5 most talented QBs in the country. However, the inconsistencies don't put either as a top 7-8 QB in the country.
October 26th, 2013 at 8:45 PM ^
I like Devin as a runner for us, but he needs to be put in the proper position to take off when needed.
