Went a few years back...second the oversized HS stadium feelings, and we just showed up and bought tickets in the parking lot at face value off of some folks who were tailgating

As some have mentioned the Michigan fans are on east side of the stadium right behind the bench till quite a few sections in the south end zone. Michigan fans end up pretty well dominating the stadium when we play there. Parking sucks as there are some lots you can tailgate in and some you cannot. Some of the other lots are quite far from the stadium but they do have buses that will pick you up from those lots to take you to the stadium. Not bad getting to the stadium then but after the game its a mad rush to get on one of those buses to get back to the lots. Then the buses stop at quite a few stops so hope that you are one of the first lots they stop at.

Purple line Central St. station is about a quarter mile from the stadium.

city of Chicago, be aware of the new speed cameras, some of which will be sending out $35/$100 tickets (some will still be in the "warning" stage at the time of the game).

Evanston is easy to get around. However, 2 years ago, it was early in the season,. Being a November game, if the weather is lousy, that will make it even easier to find parking. Also, if Northwestern has lost games by then, their fair-weather fans will have dropped out. However, if miraculously Michigan and Northwestern go into the tilt both undefeated, all bets are off, and it would make it much harder.
I'm personally banking on NU losing, so that I can pick up a couple tickets game day. (I refused to pay more than $100 bucks now with their new "dynamic pricing" model.)
