Brandon on Uniformzzz
The good news is they have no plans for alternate unis this season. The bad news is Brandon left the door open to future changes including to the helmet. The worst part of the story is Brandon's continued use of the "student athletes love it" line that is such an obvious pretext for what is really just a marketing ploy to sell more jerseys.

As far as the whole, "but the recruits love it!" line. Well here's just your reminder that sometimes teenaged boys love stupid things

Seen worse in the MGOSHIRTSHOP.
Those are freaking sweet.
I don't like them. There's too much Wisconsin.
It's OK, Wisky is in the armpit position.
But at this point, the constant complaining feels like:
that the student athletes actually do like the new styles of uniforms? Just saying...
At one time, the stripes didn't extend to the bottom, for example. The numbers were on the helmets for many years. I suspect that when the helmet was changed in prior years there was someone screaming "DO NOT MESS WITH THE HELMET!!!" They didn't listen - the result is the helmet you love today.
All of these bizarre changes, from the bumblebee jerseys to the matte helmets to the unreadable numbers to chrome apparently.... Why never the one simple, obvious choice?
Why no alternate road uniform with blue pants?
Nothing drastic, no funky designs, nothing like that.... just blue pants for one road game instead of maize. Is that so bad?
Oh, and how about bringing back the Block M on the road sleeves!
Blue pants on the road would look sweet.
'Course, then we'd be tempted to wear them with our blue jerseys at home . . . . which would also look sweet.
NO NO NO NO NO and NO!
Leave the greatest helmet in sports alone, but what about blue pants with the winged desing down the side?
Holy Hell. I dont care what the people that are busting their ass everyday, that actually wear the uniforms, that give everything, want!! i am a fan that watches with a cold drink, doesnt bust my ass, and has never played on that field, so MY opinion should be the one that matters!!
No, Texas, USC, and Bama don't have alternates, but they also have 100 degree weather, national championships in the 21st century, and blonde models attending their schools.
I know this may surprise you, but some 17 year old kids prefer that over "history, tradition, and great academics..."
If alternate uniforms help us land top five classes every year, hell bring back a leather helmet and striped sleeves for all I care.
I can't afford to buy any more jerseys for my kids and their jersey fetishes.
I'll believe it when they take the field against ND and State looking completely normal with no additional WOW factor. From the wording in the article I'm guessing we'll see an alternate at the bowl game. I hope it's a HOME alternate and not an AWAY alternate IN A YEAR WHERE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE A HOME UNIFORM AT OUR BOWL.
