never seen Jose Conseco's.
Hate those folks. Probably narcissistic jerks.
Completely agree.

are the people who use their real name on everything. talk about narcissistic!
Apparently Spike was mentioned on Pardon the Interruption today for tweeting at Kate Upton. The topic was "What are the chances Spike can get a date with Kate Upton?"
After the tourney run, Spike is the early candidate for my favorite Michigan player since Zack Novak.
This worked out well for you..38 replies so far and only one person actually wanted to follow you. #Congrats
I guess I could have left off the #congrats but it seemed appropriate.
Whoa, I missed the Vincent Smith thread. Looking for it now, but just in case I miss it, what was it about/titled?

i love twitter and use it way more than facebook. i think people would like it if they use it the right way. i just follow michigan stuff, redskins stuff and comics. i usually only tweet to other fans but sometimes i'll tweet to famous people if its a topic i like. it may be sad but its also kind of cool when you tweet somebody and they respond and you end up having a conversation with them.
I'm actually transitioning from FB to twitter. I've been on twitter for a few years, but have only tweeted about a dozen times. I mostly use it to follow news, sports news, a few comedians, and work related news.
I have no interest in following goblue_17 because I don't know who you are, so I'm not interested in what you have to tweet.
Based on the conversation in this thread, I think that's a solid plan.
...just google his name, it's pretty awesome.
I just read an article about Spike "macking Kate Upton" and it was titled something like "Spike Albrecht take thes ultimate heat check."
For someone who played basketball and knows what a heat check is, that made me laugh out loud. The kid is shooting from halfcourt and by passing the cheer squad and sorority girls and going straight for the gold...the man is an idol and a legend.
Spike Albrecht (33,000) has more followers than Devin Gardner (27,000) or anyone else on the football team.
I have 869 folowers hehe.

One thing I like about Twitter is it's everything you care about and nothing you don't. Everything you do and see on Twitter is based on what YOU are interested in and what YOU follow.
If you want to create a Twitter account and follow 10 total people, go ahead and do it. Nobody is forcing you to follow 500 people, including a bunch of 16-17 year old kids.
I've heard people/friends complain about Twitter and the stuff that's on their timeline and I can't help but think that's your fault for following that person. Unfollow them if you don't want to see tweets/retweets from them.
I follow only who and what I'm interested in. If I follow someone and they annoy me after a few days guess what, UNFOLLOW! Never to be seen again. Another thing I've figured out that is very handy is turning off retweets. Sometimes you follow someone who tweets occasionally but retweets everything in sight. They get the "block retweets" setting.
Like I said earlier, everything you want and nothing you don't. What you see on Twitter is all based on what YOU do.
BOOM humanized?
I largely follow celebrity chefs and MGoBlog and College football sportswriters like Mandel, Feldman, and Staples. Have a few athletes I follow, like Dhani Jones Michigan alumnus, but that's it.
Twitter is great for breaking news, and I can just see tweets scrol by on the desktop here with applications like JAnneter and TweetDeck. Plus, Spike can ask out Kate Upton on Twitter.
Only bad thing is people make fake accounts (as in Kevin Ware situation, many fake Kevin Ware accounts), or people report inaccurate news, but most of the time, if you control who you follow, you can save yourself from a lot of the idiocy that goes on twitter.
this dude is why we need the negbomb back.

Twitter is all about MLB/NFL Free agency. Its instant news. My handle is mons_badonicus if you are interested. If I actually had some followers, I might use it more often.

Also, in my short time on the Twitters I've noticed that most news that hits this site has already been out on Twitter for hours beforehand. Put differently, I think a lot of content on the Board comes from Twitter.

If not Twitter, Reddit. Everyone should be subscribed to /r/CFB.
There are 4 different types of people I follow on Twitter, to keep my feed entertaining. I actually think it's a great resource and I am on there constantly. It has broken several news stories for me before I saw them anywhere else, and seeing the hivemind of Twitter react to something huge is always entertaining. Here are some recommendations for people that you might want to consider following.
1) Comedians/humorous parody accounts/celebs. @anthonyjeselnik, @KimJongNumberUn, @KateUpton, @DamonLindelof, @sethmeyers21, @TheBatman, @DeathStarPR, @billmaher, @TheOnion, @DRUNKHULK, @JerkSuperman
2) News people/newsmakers/athlethes/celebs, especially in sports. @SI_PeterKing, @Deadspin, @chengelis, @KirkHerbstreit, @SamWebb77, @edsbs, @JasonKirkSBN, @DesmondHoward, @Andy_Staples, @slmandel, @Reuters
3) other MGoUsers. Recommend you follow @AceAnbender, @mgoblog, @LorneEC3 (mod LSAClassof2000), @Bry_Mac (former mod BiSB), @Misopogon (Seth), @Heiko25, & @MGoVideo, in addition to those mentioned in the comments above me.
4) my family or friends that have Twitter
I sent you a follow as well.
