I dont have enough points to start my own thread, but I wanted to share with everyone.
I thought many of us would enjoy the new acceptance video for undergrads.

I graduated 3 years ago, and am in med school in Wayne State, and try to crush it everyday so I can go back to UofM for my residency. I have never had more pride in anything in my entire life than I do with Michigan. Its striving for the best and the becoming the best, but doing it the right way. I love MICHIGAN and I know Michigan changed my life and a lot of yours.

Hoke's pressers can be very insightful. This was one of them.
No RS OL working at Center
Graham Glasgow, walk-on, battling Jack Miller for the Center spot
Hoke's insights on Norfleet possibly playing Corner in the Bowl game
The update on the RS DL
Tidbits regarding Royce Jenkins-Stone
Drake Johnson getting some praise as a "big back"
Easy to tell Hoke loves him some Dennis Norfleet

The most important topic discussed was the tragic event in Connecticut. The notion that this site decides to resrict the discussion of this seminal event is unfortunate. I understand the 'ground rules' but what happened today demands a careful consideration of these ground rules. This discussion needs to take place and it needs to supplant the discussions that take place here every day.

what took place in connecticut was tragic. However, the world (and internet) is full of other places to discuss it.

But, the great thing about America is that you can start your own website/chat board and talk about what ever you want to talk about!

Well...you're right, as are the other 2 responses. The last thing we want to do after something like this is to think about it and talk about it. We'll do what we've been doing for decades-ignore gun violence.
This was a seminal event and to lock the thread and prevent the discussion about this topic is wrong. So we'll keep talking about the mundane things that border on trivia and ignore the fact that 15,000 people are killed every year in the US as the result of gun violence. And unless we have a broad based, widespread discussion focusing on gun violence events like this will continue. Sometime in the future, unless things change, there will be repeat of what we saw today. We'll wring our hands and stomp our feet but unless we talk about it nothing will change.
I've lived very close to Newtown. I've seen gun violence up close. I just want the discussion. So, open the locked thread. Do the right thing.

Im didnt get the time to watch the whole presser, did anyone ask Hoke why he moved him to CB when he seemed to have some pretty good potential on offense?

Hoke said that Norfleet loves to play football. Loves to practice. He's a coaches wet dream. Norfleet showed he belongs on the field and had played CB in HS SO and JR year so the position is not new to him. HOke did mention he's not the biggest guy but he REALLY REALLY loves to play the game. I can't wait to see him play during the bowl game.

At which point during his two carries this season did he show said pretty good potential on offense? It's not like Toussaint, Rawls, Smith and Hayes were lighting it up this year and he was stuck behind all of them with Deveon Smith, Drake Johnson and possibly Green in the mix next fall. As long as he's still returning kicks, who cares if he's a 5th string RB or 3rd string CB?

Perhaps the Northfleet Smash will best be utilized on defense.

A very common theme with this years play. See a player and run right into him!

Yes, his questions are the most consistently stupid, but that may have something to do with his audience being Wolverine Nation.
December 14th, 2012 at 11:11 PM ^
I wonder if Hoke hates Rothstein's questions as much as I do. Rothstein on the SEC: "Right, but I mean the SEC has had such dominance over the past decade." Rothstein on Norfleet: "Is there a concern at that position because of his height?" Does every question have to have a negative/dickish attitude to it?
December 15th, 2012 at 7:21 AM ^
I mean, you do realize who you're talking about right? Dickish inherently goes with the territory.

While Hoke may not like Rothstien's questions, I like the way he always seems to answer Angelique by name at least once every presser. She's the one person in the MSM who has never done anything to damage the program and can always be trusted to be professional, during good times or bad times.
Maybe a better way to put it is that she never tries to make herself the story. That is increasingly rare in this era.
