I've had two double ardmore scotchets (smokey) and a couple double rum & cokes. I'm drunk off my ass. What are you drinking. WHOO!!

It's something I would consider, except I like my kidneys. AM I allowed to spell kidneys right when I'm this drunk? I don't know! Seriously, my eyes won't focus and I'm thrilled to death about it.

You should try Sprecher Black Bavarian (a lager that tastes like a porter) and Sam Adams Dark Depths Baltic IPA. First time trying it and it's one of the best Porters I've ever had.

If you're going to visit frats, must be Natty Light. Alcoholic water. a mircale of penniless, made of poor beverage engineering. I played some entertaining strip-beer-pong to that, I did. Now, if only I could remember an of it.
August 17th, 2012 at 11:19 PM ^
When going with really shitty beers, I prefer to have Beer-30 Light. It has a shockingly high shittyness to price ratio, which far exceeds even Natty light.

Should I start drinking to contribute to this thread?
August 17th, 2012 at 11:18 PM ^
Oh so yes.
August 17th, 2012 at 11:20 PM ^
I'll go upstairs and grab a Labatt then.
August 17th, 2012 at 11:23 PM ^
Aw hell... I guess as long as it will get you drunk.
"And their beer sucks!"
MORE SCOTCH!

I'm in northern Michigan right now, that's practically Canada without mounties.
August 17th, 2012 at 11:38 PM ^
before the Canadian menace crosses Lake Superior and threatens our beloved UP. Prepare yourselves!
August 17th, 2012 at 11:46 PM ^
We must prepare!
We need to prevent the frozen menace from approaching!
August 18th, 2012 at 12:15 AM ^
Quick, to the Dragonmobile! We must scout our northern border immediately!
August 18th, 2012 at 12:16 AM ^
Thankfully, the Night's Watch and the Wall lie between us and the far north!
August 18th, 2012 at 1:01 AM ^
I'll pack an extra beaver pelt for warmth in the desolate wastelands of the north. Armored ice bears await! Luckily I still have my precious golden compass...

*fistbump for a fellow sangria fan*
August 17th, 2012 at 11:34 PM ^
why Dominick's is awesome. they have that sangria niche. such a fun place to chill. also, look how much I positively moderate everyone while drinking!
August 17th, 2012 at 11:36 PM ^
I have yet to go there despite this being my last year at Michigan. But I am going to make a point to get out there sometime soon. Maybe welcome week, when it's still warm. Nothing like sangria when it's hot outside.

is acceptable to drink when playing console video games with friends. I am specifically thinking of Mario Party 8 for Game Cube. Something about the flavor and candor of the beverage works extremely well in that specific situation.

Labatts currently (in my opinion, a highly underrated beer. Great taste for the price). I've had a glass of wine and a mojito earlier, because why the hell not.

Bell's two-hearted ... my personal fave, which I can (mercifully) procure here in Madison! I'm throwing an old school house party tomorrow night in my new apartment overlooking the lake, I've stocked up on Miller Light to appease the natives. should be good.

Crooked Tree IPA is where you need to be, Two Hearted is good but Crooked tree is phenomenal.

Good choice. Definitely the most palatable of the cheap beers.
August 17th, 2012 at 11:38 PM ^
Smokey, but not quote Laphroig, which is almost overly smokey.
ABC Fudge Stout - Midly chocolate, which some people don't seem to get. Fudge is not neceessarily chocolate, people! It can be anything!
RC & Coconut Rum - yeah, it's what it sounds like
Gosling's Dark Rum & A&W Cream Soda - Better than it sounds like.
More ardmore
+ more ardmore.
I shoud stop before my liver decides to divorce me.

Just finished playing a (IRL) game of catan a few hours ago. How is it online?
August 18th, 2012 at 12:20 AM ^
I'm getting ganged up on a lot lately but that comes with the territory. There are a lot of different options for game setup, e.g. Friendly Robber, which prevents robbing or blocking anybody with 2 victory points. A lot of people like to play that way.
The free accounts allow you to play the basic game with 3 or 4 players. Paid accounts allow you to play Seafarers, Cities and Knights and whatnot.

In obscure gametypes is totally encouraged in drinking threads, regardless of the exact game.
August 18th, 2012 at 12:25 AM ^
It's becoming more mainstream in this day and age. There's a hardcore community out there since the 90s that bakes Catan cakes and so forth. My brother taught me how to play and I practice a lot online.

A few housemates and I got it last fall, and it's been a mainstay in our house ever since. I definitely am surprised that it hasn't caught on more in the US, it's a damn good game. Glad to see it's gaining popularity.
Now we just need this:
