that was frustrating. Something to build on though.

Weber is goanna die Friday for that shit.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:42 PM ^
Weber is going to get it next game!!!
April 11th, 2012 at 10:42 PM ^
That's a bummer but I actually feel better about our chances after watching this game.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:42 PM ^
Holy fuck, Weber should be dragged out into the street and shot for that shit.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:42 PM ^
And wow Nashville players are fucking thugs. Punching Z in the head, going after Datsyuk after the game is over. Fucking Gongshow refs
April 11th, 2012 at 10:42 PM ^
WTF, dirty shit slamming Zetterberg's head into the glass. Shanny, do your job.

SUSPEND HIM
April 11th, 2012 at 10:44 PM ^
Weber should not play again this season. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable behavior.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:44 PM ^
a Face Off Professor ? Any word on Helm?
April 11th, 2012 at 10:44 PM ^
Luck can't last through the whole series. I think the WIngs win game 2 and eventually win it in 6.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:45 PM ^
going after Weber next year....
April 11th, 2012 at 10:53 PM ^
...in the first preseason game.

Jeremy Roenick is ripping into weber right now (rightly) on CNBC.
Hopefully Shanny lays down the law.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:47 PM ^
Has to be a suspension. Otherwise he totally gets away with it since it was at the end of the game. Only question is whether the suspension is only one game.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:51 PM ^
It had better be. Final five minutes of the game, attacking a defenseless player, if he doesn't get punished beyond a 2 minute minor it'll be a crying shame
April 11th, 2012 at 10:53 PM ^
Truthfully, they should make basically all supplemental discipline in the playoffs four games. You want to do something completely outside the field of play? Fine; plan on us allowing your club to have their season ended without you.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:48 PM ^
PS it looks liek Luongo isn't choking in this year's playoffs. Wow
April 11th, 2012 at 10:49 PM ^
The worst part of all this, besides the lucky ass bounces, and the #gongshow officiating; is that despite Weber slamming Z's head into the glass as the game ended nothing is going to happen to him, and everyone will just ignore it
April 11th, 2012 at 10:51 PM ^
If the "higher ups" ignore it. I can guarantee the Red Wings will not. He will pay for it one way or another.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:54 PM ^
The league absolutely has to do something about that. Unfortunately the wings don't have an true enforcer to respond if the league sits on its ass and doesn't do anything. Bob Probert would teach Weber not to do that ever again.
April 11th, 2012 at 11:01 PM ^
They have Todd Bertuzzi on their roster. Need I say more.
He's not the same Todd Bertuzzi he used to be though -- more of a skilled power forward than an enforcer.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:49 PM ^
I will have lost any remaining respect for the NHL as a league, Bettman is at that game if he wants to avoid "head injuries" this is the easiest decision to make. There is no place in any sports at any level for disguisting actions like that. How honestly can someone slam someone's head into the glass without getting suspended.
Weber is the biggest piece of shit on the planet right now, he can go fuck himself with that fucking Tootoo whistle. Fuck Nashville. Rant over.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:52 PM ^
Agreed. This is a litmus test for the league. Like the Saints appeal last week this will be a test of whether the league cares about player safety.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:49 PM ^
They better fucking suspend Weber and look at that Bourque hit closely as well. I doubt Rene gets suspended, but that Weber bullshit should merit at least a 1 game suspension. Fucking ass hole.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:53 PM ^
Just horrible luck all around
April 11th, 2012 at 10:53 PM ^
That sucks. Hoping he's ok but doesn't sound good at all.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:54 PM ^
If he got cut, needing tests can not be a good thing... Severed tendon? Blood came out green?
April 11th, 2012 at 11:21 PM ^
got cut. At the hospital to see what the damage is.
April 11th, 2012 at 11:23 PM ^
Whoever is moderating this as funny, may you suffer from explosive diarrhea in public, asshole.

April 11th, 2012 at 10:56 PM ^
I'm torn between feeling that the Red Wings will just crush them the next game...or as Yost Built pointed out, nothing happens to Weber and he's the difference in the next game (Malkin '09)
April 11th, 2012 at 11:20 PM ^
Wont happen... That wings team had guys like McCarty, Kocur, Shanny who all could handle dropping the gloves and defending not just themselves but other skilled guys on the team. This team has become SOFT. The other western conference teams know it and have taken advantage of it over the past 3-4 seasons. When Nik Kronwall is your "physical player" your team has serisous playoff question marks. Wings need to find guys like David Backes, Scott Hartnell, other guys who are skilled while making guys answer for doing stuff like Weber did.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:54 PM ^
Fucking gongshow refs, Weber got 2 min for roughing. Have some balls, call a 5 min major and game misconduct! I'm gonna hope Shanny steps in and does the right thing.
April 11th, 2012 at 10:56 PM ^
Shanny was handing out the suspensions during the regular season.... hopefully he keeps it up.
April 11th, 2012 at 11:04 PM ^
Blown call on the ice. That's a game misconduct at the absolute least; if Zetterberg goes down, there's no complaints at a match being called. Obviously thankful that isn't the case, but there was no point to that play besides attempting to injure the closest star opponent.
Hopefully Shanahan ends this clowns season and then Kronwall has something to say to him early in the 2012-2013 season.
April 11th, 2012 at 11:08 PM ^
April 11th, 2012 at 11:04 PM ^
Haven't seen it from that angle. That looks even worse!
April 11th, 2012 at 11:06 PM ^
I can't wait to hear people try to justify this
Predators Coach Barry Trotz said Weber was retaliating for Zetterberg’s initial shot, adding that he saw Detroit forward Todd Bertuzzi land a shot on Paul Gaustad.
“Zetterberg hit him in the head first,” Trotz said. “It wasn’t much there. I mean, I was watching the scrum right after that with Bertuzzi and Gaustad, and Bertuzzi comes in with a big-time haymaker. I watched the first one, I just think Zetterberg was getting tired at the end and knew Webs was there and the game was over.”
I understand now... the victim of the assault is to blame. Silly me, here I thought it was Weber that was at fault... what with him using Z's head, to crack the Plexiglas and all. I guess it just goes to show, your eyes can misinterpret what you see.
April 11th, 2012 at 11:07 PM ^
watching this just pisses me off.
