Let's say for the sake of argument that Burke does leave...

As Brian recently posted, that leaves Michigan with the possibility of Della Valle, Albrecht, and some as-yet unknown candidates.  Sam Webb has mentioned the possibility of someone using the graduate transfer rule to join Michigan from another school, but he hasn't come up with any names.

Am I missing anything?  Does anyone have a reason to be optmistic about Albrecht given that he apparently has no scholarship offers?  How about Della Valle, who is apparently more of a two guard?  Is there some unhappy PG who's already graduated from Alabama Tech who has a year of eligibility left and who can really handle an offense?

As for Stauskas, I know people are going to mention him, but the kid just isn't a PG, is he?  I'd like to be wrong.

Plays for St. Louis, helped give sparty a scare. Stat line is decent - 12.1 ppg, 3.8 apg, 2.7rpg. The one issues is that he was suspended a year for violating school policy.

Other option; Devon Moore - James Madison. Ok stats. From Columbus.

Not many good redshirt junior point guards out there.

PG Stauskas

SG Hardaway

SF Glen Robinson

PF McGary

C Morgan

that would be a HUGE lineup.  If teams ran a full court press, they'd have no chance.

Or was he just not going to be the guy?

Never can tell how hard the coaches tried to keep a kid, could be the scholarships are too valuable to talk anyone into staying.

If the kid moves on, good for him.  If he stays, good for everyone.  But all this Trey Burke leaves = doom stuff is just plain ignorant.  This is college basketball and if you want us to be a good team year in an year out you better strengthen your resolve because good players leave after one year if they can.  Trey can, so he is gone.  Do I wish he would have done more in the tournament?  Hell yeah.  But we just got our first big ten championship in 25 years, so  I will take it.

What disgust me most is all the people on this board and everywhere else acting like they can assess talent and they know what is best for him.  You don't.  I don't.  none of us do, so let it go... and quit being all sour grapes about this.

man up kids.
