Brandon pimp hands Hollis
Mark Hollis had good intentions-but made a mistake. Not appropriate to tweet one of our student-athletes. Won't happen again. End of story.
Anytime I hear someone's a man or the man I always think of this song, and now it's in my head.
..........bwahahahahahahahaha....idiot
they always have to follow Michigan events, games, issues. Will you ever see at Michigan coach or AD making a similar comment about sparty. I only watch sparty when they play us. Seems like they are obsessed with following Michigan and commenting about Michigan. I guess they should be... since we are Michigan.
It seems that Mark Hollis is stupid, drinks, or both. I wonder how many drunken phone calls lil bro made to uninterested girls as an undergrad.
Why are you qualifying this with "as an undergrad?"

Sparty co-eds beware...Ole Mark has got a couple Natty Lites in um and he's lookin 2 score.
especially those in the public eye, but one would think that the athletic director of a BCS conference school would have more important and pressing matters at hand than to do this. Nevertheless, I can't stop laughing at everyone's reactions.
Brandon-> almost everyone else -> Hollis -----------------------> and then Gene Smith

Hollis' tweet was weird but harmless. I don't think it was an NCAA violation. The whole thing is overblown.

Hollis and Brandon are friends. They talked about it over the phone and brandon didn't mind. Also, Hollis and Burke know each other personally. More than the hundreds of Michigan fans tweeting at him trying to give him "advice"

How/why would Burke know the AD at MSU personally, and how could you possibly know this?

To be fair, an Email or Text looks a lot more suspicious to the NCAA (Even though it isn't a violation) than a public tweet. The tweet is there for everyone to see so nothing is hidden, whereas in an email or text he could be telling him anything privately.

is a violation, without Dave Brandon's written consent. Period.
Hollis and Brandon play golf once a year and DB does his best to play nice while Hollis seems as if he's a half-in-the-bag fan most of the time. Friends? I don't know. DB just gave him a public bitch-slapping via tweet. Hollis may consider finding the sort of friend around whom he doesn't seem like an intellectually underequipped puppy.

For Sparty maybe..but NOBODY else..Looks like MSU understands that the UM program is growing each and every year and he will stop at nothing to quash that..Including trying to lure our star to the NBA early...SHAME on him and MSU

Is anyone else annoyed by Brandon's general demeanor? I don't like the "end of story" statement at all. Who the f-ck is he to tell people they should stop talking about something they obviously care about? His attitude smacks of "my sh-t don't smell" and it comes out in all of his public dealings.

From my reading of it, he would have been better off putting a comma between "won't happen again" and "end of story". I don't think he was trying to say we shouldn't talk about it, just that another AD wouldn't Tweet a M student athlete again.

What would you have preferred him to have said here?

I thought Brandon was more than charitable here. He could have condemned Hollis for acting in a completely inappropriate fashion. I read that last line as saying, "We'll leave this alone, but if you do this again, we'll report you to the NCAA." If Hollis wants more "respect" than that, he should show some himself.
I read it as Brandon telling all those that are complaining/contacting him about it to leave him alone. As in "I've already responded to Hollis so stop bothering me about it because I'm not going to respond further."

DB is a DB but he's our DB.
I interpreted the "end of story" as a message to the public, including M fans, to not fret about the now dead issue.
Hollis herp derped and failed to adhere to a rule. David Brandon could have called for some sort of action, but chose not to with the understanding that the intent wasn't bad in nature. Now MSU's AD is aware of his gaffe, which hopefully will prevent him from making the same mistake twice.
Nothing to see here.
