in and make an impact! Let's go and get Diggs now.
December 4th, 2011 at 8:24 PM ^
Not to be a downer, I'm defiinatly psyched about getting Darboh. Im just wondering if this effects Diggs' decision.
December 4th, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
i doubt this in particular affects diggs' decision other than that its one less spot available. i do wonder whether hoke would take 3 wrs if chesson commits soon and diggs wants in later.
December 4th, 2011 at 6:31 PM ^

Welcome to the family Amara!!!
December 4th, 2011 at 6:34 PM ^
I would say it's a good day to be a Wolverine
But it's always a good day to be a Wolverine.
I would say then, that it is a gooder day to be a Wolverine.
But that would be grammatically incorrect, more akin to bucknuts, rather than MGoBlog.
So I'm just going to sit here smugly, enjoying the awesomeness that is this fine sunday evening.
December 4th, 2011 at 6:40 PM ^
Say this:
It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine. (repeat five times)
December 4th, 2011 at 6:34 PM ^
Big play receiver, exactly what we needed!
December 4th, 2011 at 6:34 PM ^
One more WR spot available, I don't know if it'll affect Diggs, but maybe Payton and Chesson? It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
Darboh is the real deal, HUGE get! I think he'll get some run next year behind Roundtree.
December 4th, 2011 at 6:34 PM ^
Alright, welcome Amara! Can't wait to see 'Darboh' on the back of a Michigan jersey, I have a feeling it's going to look amazing.
It's only a matter of time now for the last few spots, this class is closing up nicely.

December 4th, 2011 at 6:35 PM ^
Hopefully Amara can follow in the footsteps of the last Iowa High School receiver to head to Michigan (Yo, Adrian Arrington, minus the "off-the-field" issues)
December 4th, 2011 at 6:40 PM ^
Well here's Jeff Bridges doing a dance

December 4th, 2011 at 6:41 PM ^
Sweet. Big pick up and should put a sense of urgency on the remaining WR targets. Great decision kid and look forward to watching you the next 4-5 years.
December 4th, 2011 at 6:50 PM ^
A top WR commits and Michigan is on the verge of a BCS bowl berth. Not a bad day for Michigan!

From the hello post on the front page:
The civil unrest that erupted in the Republic of Sierra Leone in 1991initiated the near eleven year war that swept through the country, threatening the lives of residents. In the capital, Freetown, Amara Darboh was just 2-years-old when his father and mother, Solimon and Kadita, were killed during a surge of violence. His father was a member in the military and after his parents’ deaths, he had few options.
Left in the care of surviving family members, their only choice was to flee. Amara spent the next several years living in Gambia and Senegal as a refugee. Life looked bleak for little Amara who had lost his parents and was unable to return home because of the ongoing civil war. Where was he to go if not back home?
The first seven years of his life were spent surviving life and death situations, education seemed impossible, and the hope for a better future was non-existent.
But when Amara was 7-years-old, an unexpected and seemingly impossible event happened. “It was a refugee program. We randomly got picked to come to Des Moines,” he told the Des Moines Register.

December 4th, 2011 at 7:16 PM ^

December 4th, 2011 at 7:29 PM ^

December 4th, 2011 at 7:06 PM ^
Welcome to the family Amara! You will love Ann Arbor and the entire Michigan football experience.
This kids story in unbelievable and is truly one of my favorite commits now. This is Michael Oher type stuff and everyone who hasn't read about him should. I can't find the link right now although I'm looking for it from a previous thread a few months back.
Great day to be a Michigan fan!
December 4th, 2011 at 7:27 PM ^

December 4th, 2011 at 7:29 PM ^
Welcome home!!!!
December 4th, 2011 at 7:38 PM ^
First recruit we've pulled from Iowa since... Adrian Arrington?
December 4th, 2011 at 7:54 PM ^
Here's another update on WR recruit we're in on...
"Thumbs up to Amara! I am still going to keep the same timeline for my commitment, this just gives me a larger incentive to commit to Michigan. I will still keep my word to Iowa and visit though."
Chesson also mentioned Wolverine coach Jeff Hecklinski has been by for an in-home visit and has planned another one this week.
