TomVH: Quick Jarrod Wilson Update
I spoke with one of the coaches at Buchtel today about Jarrod. They did have the meeting that was planned for tonight. Jarrod is going to take the rest of the week off to reflect on everything and they will then meet back up on Monday and discuss everything further.
They're not sure if that meeting will result in a commitment, but they do believe that Michigan, Penn State, and Notre Dame are the final schools left for him.
go blue, jarrod.
For a second I thought you were talking to me.
are you a ball-hawkin' FS that likes to lay the wood and runs a sub 4.5 40? If so, then Go Blue Jarrod and Jarred!
Actually, we only have room for 1 and the class is filling up fast, so if we rumor Jarred to be committing soon, hopefully Jarrod will have to pull the trigger to keep his spot...
Sure would be nice to get a true safety in this class. I love the way this defense is shaping up under Mattison, let's hope it shows up on the field, and quick!
If I had a tail I'd waggle it every time I see a TomVH thread
Any gut feelings?
#GBOD
Call me old but what does GBOD mean? I googled it and all that came up was General Board of Discipleship for the Church of God and I dont think that has anything to do with Jarrod Wilson's recruitment.
Go Blue Or Die... it's a popular hashtag nowdays, If recruits are fine with it so am I
Thanks guys. If the cool kids are doing it then it works for me. GBOD!
You're old.
I know from previous threads that Lloyd Brady was at that dinner
A reading from lloyd's letters to the mgoblogospherians...
They already have 4 DBs this year, took 4 DBs last year, and 5 DBs the year before that, but Reeves and Wilson rate them in their top choices. Looks like Kelly really loads up in the backfield.
As do we.
Yeah, but we can count on 80% attrition each year.
Hoke will have taken 9 in his 2 classes if we pick up another Safety this year. I'd be even further surprised if Hoke took 5 or 6 more next year like Kelly is aiming for, this will be his 3rd ND recruiting class.
Two years ago we took 4 safeties and 3 corners, but we're already down one of each and only one of them (Furman) redshirted. Last year we took 5 DBs, but the none of them were true safeties, and only one or two of them will be safeties.
So, if you're a safety commit, you have anywhere from three to five guys at your position in the two classes ahead of you, and two of the guys two years ahead of you did not redshirt. That's not depth that will scare anyone off.
Go Blue or Die! He reminds of of Marlin Jackson - Yes please!
Nice. Let's hope he chooses us. It would probably help significantly if Armani Reeves would commit to PSU in the intervening time.
I really want Wilson. It'd suck to lose out on him and have to play against him.
He was in Tuscaloosa. The commitment rumour seems to be just a rumour at this point.
then revisited Oklahoma a few days ago, now he's revisited Alabama. I wonder if Mizzou, Indy and 2A will be seeing more of him soon.
I hope so. Unless the postponement was because he couldn't decide between those two. I'm really hoping we're still in it for him, but I'm not going to get excited until/unless we get a second visit. If we could get a top-tier WR to commit soon (Stanford?) that might help us out.
I love how we're adding size back to the D. True safties and big DBs are what we've needed.
He would be a great get and would finish out our needs at DB's for this class, he seems like a heck of a ball hawk!
Commenting for the Tom tab.
We do need safety help and with his size and speed he would fit in well with Mattison's defense.
I like how the competitors for Michigan's targeted recruits are mainly top-notch programs. The last few years I've felt like our targets weren't up to the caliber of our toughest competitors.
