Semi-OT: Will you buy this issue of SI?
The community here, like in a lot of corners of the internet, seems to be very anti-print, anti-establishment media and like to rail on the system and point out its failings. No one is saying they can't wait until the article hits the newstands, but rather to read it online.
The question is, even if you have seen the article online or heard all the sordid detials by the time it's available at stores, will you BUY the magazine? My answer is easy: yes. I consider it fine work and, quite frankly, a service. It is more than worth my $5 and I also think it would be nice to have for years down the line, laying around the house as an iconic snapshot of the times.
But you could photocopy yours, and send it to me. I'll buy you a beer. You seem like a nice guy. I'd probably enjoy buying you a beer.

Nice shtick. Never going to give it up are you?
But that's my final offer. I usually go for two beers, anyway.
And how exactly do we know that it was "fine work" on this story? I think I'd want to read it, before making a judgment like that.
...are some of you boys wondering what it was that you shaved your legs for? 10-year old Youngstown State stories? 20 year-old football camp stories? Smoking weed in the basement of the tattoo shop? The Tat 5 becoming the Tat 9 (or not at all)?
I expect that you could have more fun with a copy of Maxim, or the maybe the AARP magazine, than Sports Illustrated. Personally, I'd sort of like to have back the 15 minutes of my life that I wasted reading Dohrmann.
And, um, the people who had some doubts about Sports Illustrated actually doing an important and worthwhile story, the people who are "very anti-print, anti-establishment media and like to rail on the system and point out its failings..." seem to have been right. Again.
Absolutely. I actually subscribe to ESPN the magazine for some reason, so I have the vest issue from this month also. Having the two of these will be something to keep.
I will not only buy it. But I'll make 600,000 photocopies, laminate them, and then hire a helicopter to air drop them over every corner of Columbus.
I might frame it.
I think it will look very nice in a frame.
I have a subscription so no worries. I am going to frame that issue.
I stopped my order a while ago and I am not renewing until Rosenberg leaves.

and put it in schembechler hall
Better question is will I have sex with it...maybe
I don't think that this deserves its own thread, but this guy seems pretty confident that OSU will get Jon Gruden. I'm not quite sure how I would feel about that, but he's probably a bit of a step down from Meyer or Tressel.
after the last 3 years, I'm just enjoying the karma
and have always actually enjoyed SI.
Depending on what is in the article, I might frame this issue of SI.
Any idea when it comes out?
Most thought that it would be released tomorrow around 12:00, but rumor has it that it has been bumped up to 8:00 tonight (just 2 more hours!!)
Completely worth it. I also want to buy espn's (?) Busted magazine with the sweater vest cover
You mean that issue that included a picture of Rich Rodriguez,
and a mention of Michigan, in the Greatest Year of Cheating in the Whole History of Cheating? I call bullshit. Now, I've got to do some stretching for the next fifteen minutes.I'll buy one and frame the home subscription.
According to George Doerhmann's twitter, the story should be up on CNNSI.com between 7:30 and 8:00 tonight.
but if it is good enough maybe it will get a place on the wall in my Michigan room.
I'll buy 4, just in case the pages stick together on the first three.
I wonder what the cover is going to look like for this one.
The bigger question: will bookstores in Ohio dare put it up for sale?
Cover looks nice
I'm wondering how good an autographed copy would look in my den...
Please just make sure you don't pay for that autograph...lol
We are Michigan and while this is great and it's greatly deserved there is no way I'm buying it.
I might "borrow" the issue from a random waiting room somewhere.
Pfft, print media.
I won't be buying it. It's just one more thing to sit around here and take up space.
