Maybe I'm missing something, but these shoes are hideous. Normally Nike is at the cutting edge of technology, but this strikes me as though they are taking a few steps backward.
I would think that Oklahoma and OK St would be appealing to the SEC. The footprint might be a little west, but given Texas A&M, it shouldn't be a problem. Plus both schools appear to be sick of Texas and the big 12.
I'm not here to speculate on any players and whether they do, or do not, deserve a 5th year.
I am generally interested in understanding the general practice on this... If this has already been discussed, please Neg away.
Players give their all, and more, to play D1 football. So, what should the deciding factor be with respect to a 5th year?
- do schools owe it (5th year) to the player, regardless of talent? - what do you think should be the deciding factor(s)? - how has Michigan normally handled 5th year's? - is Michigan's approach different that other P5 school's?
Insult or not, this means there are low expectations for the year. This is good news, that means there is upside & it probably is giving the team a chip on their shoulder.
You should read the grantland article about the movie. The dynamic Kubrick setup between his characters was magical. Cruise and Kidman basically got divorced afterward because of the tension Kubrick created between his leading characters.

I guess Football teams should not have practiced or played in bowl games because they were on holiday break?!?
I'm not anywhere close to evaluating talent, but I think you go with who you think is the best fit for your program.

While their competitors are bringing on soccer, which continues to draw strong interest, ESPN brings on the WWE.
1. He looks tired
2. He seemed uncomfortable answering these questions.
I'm not confident that he'll be the quarterback this fall.
For someone who was willing to platoon the university, I find it hard to believe he put the team before his own self interests.
Go enjoy your story about a man who a times lived up to the expectations of a leader of men.
