Spring Ball to Partially Take Place in FL?
Very interesting tweet from Balas today, and I'm sure this will be something the SEC will try to shut down immediately. Never even knew this was possible.
Several tell us Jim Harbaugh will have the 2016 U-M team spend a week of spring ball in Fla. https://t.co/b9ZGYRn6oO pic.twitter.com/c9EY3HaR6p

This would be during spring break, I assume?
Would we then take a break from practicing for a couple weeks and then start up again? Otherwise the spring game would be around the middle of March.

When I played collegiate tennis they paid for us to go to Hilton Head for the week of spring break to practice and train.

Good to know that trill is considered a positive. Heard it pop up a bit lately but wasn't sure. I'm old obviously.
January 10th, 2016 at 12:24 PM ^
Originally it was usually spelled "Treal" and is a contraction of "true" and "real". At first, I heard it used as a compliment for a person, but now is a general purpose adjective.
January 10th, 2016 at 1:01 PM ^
No it wasn't spelled that way.
January 10th, 2016 at 3:55 PM ^
You were just late to the game, son.
January 10th, 2016 at 1:25 PM ^
That's not how the Trillionaires spelled it

I first heard it like ten years ago, and I've always thought it was a combination of tranquil and chill, but I think it's evolved since then to just mean "cool"

Fla in the spring bout to be lit

Where the girls are.

Would be to push the dang spring game back so when you host recruits it's not cold and cloudy with a chance of rain every time. Make it as late as possible.
January 10th, 2016 at 10:11 PM ^
Yeah but that's better than a chance of meatballs

Get some sun to mold the mind and train the body... or whatever he said at the Citrus Bowl pre game conference.
January 10th, 2016 at 11:54 AM ^
Would let all the Florida recruits stop by and check out practice too.
January 10th, 2016 at 11:57 AM ^
Wow gee thats true. You totally should email UM cuz i am sure this thought NEVER occurred to them.

I'm sure it occurred to them, "cuz" Harbaugh is crafty like that. It was just a comment for people on this board who might not have considered that aspect.

You may want to go back to bed for a while...try to wake up on the other side.

Dude ain't Trill.

You don't do passive-aggressive too well. Lean more towards the passive side next time.
January 10th, 2016 at 12:02 PM ^
That seems like a happy coincidence!

Would allow this.

My cousin got trips to Florida over winter break every year with her swim team.

Pics or it didn't happen.

the satellite camps drudged up, I would also be very surprised if the NCAA allows this as well. I think it is a great idea on many fronts, just hope it is allowed to happen. Harbaugh continues to be an innovative thinker.
January 10th, 2016 at 11:56 AM ^
Many collegiate teams go to warmer weather for winter or spring break training trips. The difference with this is that it sounds like Harbaugh will use it to reach out to local/regional recruits. Sounds like an outstanding idea, especially as a way to build interest for satellite camps over the summer...

Harbaugh!

taking them to San Diego to train with Navy Seals. May not be as big a deal as we think. Let's wait for details.
January 10th, 2016 at 12:28 PM ^
Hoke took the seniors to San Diego for Navy Seal leadership training. The Navy will bring the Seals to Ann Arbor for Harbaugh "The Team! The Team! The Team!" training.
January 10th, 2016 at 12:38 PM ^
this is just college football.
January 10th, 2016 at 1:29 PM ^
With all due respect for all of our current and retired Seals, I always thought that the "training" the player's got was the biggest damn waste of time and money.
January 10th, 2016 at 11:58 AM ^
Don't think you will see the SEC be able to say much... Kentucky does something like this every year for basketball. LSU played games in Australia this past year with Ben Simmons on their team.
No football team has done this but their basketball teams do this often.
January 10th, 2016 at 12:46 PM ^
If the SEC did have somthing to say, we could invite them up to practice at the Big House on their spring break. Fair is fair. SEC= #Suck it
January 10th, 2016 at 1:01 PM ^
They will not come as Mark Richt has told people repeatedly that it is freezing here in the Spring or Summer.
January 10th, 2016 at 2:55 PM ^
wearing their sun-dresses than go up to Ann Arbor that time of year. Cabbage patch girls and Rainbow Brights.

Every bball team is allowed to do an overseas tour once every 2-3 years. I forget the actual number. Michigan went to France last year.

For basketball I believe you can take your team on European or foreign trips every few years. Beilein has done it with the hoop squad a few times during his tenure

I know a player on the team fairly well and he told me the plan is for the team to practice down in Florida over spring break. Supposedly Harbaugh will be mixing work with pleasure during the trip. I personally think this is a great idea and great opportunity for the players.
January 10th, 2016 at 12:02 PM ^
Where in Florida they are going? Maybe Miami to train at the Dolphins complex?
January 10th, 2016 at 12:06 PM ^
Karsch also brought this up 97.1 last week. It will ruffle feathers again oin the south! I love it!
January 10th, 2016 at 12:10 PM ^
Now that is completley amazing if that's where they end up!
