If you're not an alumni/student of either place, I'd say yes. I know plenty of rather serious sports fans who graduated from places like CMU who root for all the Michigan teams. A lot of people enjoy seeing the state of Michigan (or by extension the Big 10) do well against teams from other places, especially the south. |

| 18 weeks 3 days ago | Teo's statement still doesn't |
Teo's statement still doesn't explain the supposed meetings, among other things. With all he has to lose, why come out with this now when it was supposedly known before the 26th? He was making statements about his GF before the NCG. ND posters are guessing it's an attempt to cover up something in his personal life, ala Rock Hudson. Clearly just baseless speculation, but it makes as much sense as anything else. |

Agreed. There is literally no reason to keep locking these threads - please stop. We're going to find out the validity one way or another; there may as well be fresh discussion when the events are ongoing. |

This is a picture of a Texas v. Baylor game when Texas was a TOP 5 team, taken in the 4th quarter.
This was posted on the main page of mgoblog awhile back, and it specifically mentions they had essentially no student section the entire game. |
| 27 weeks 6 days ago | True, but I still think that |
True, but I still think that the picture shows that the student section was mostly full when it was taken. Since the camera is at the top of the stadium you're only going to miss a couple of rows. |
| 28 weeks 4 hours ago | Wrong. |
The swamp 15mins before the game...
MSU's student section right after their 2-OT loss...
Our student section was full after the 1st quarter.
The issue is not the size. |

Nice Amazon affiliate link. Neg is mine. tag=buckey09-20&camp=.... Either you're accidently making everyone who buys something from Amazon in the next 24 hours donate to BuckeyePlanet or a buckeye fan is trying to make a quick buck. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | 1) It should not come down to |
1) It should not come down to the QB essentially refereeing the game, especially in a hurry-up situation where he's not going to take 5+ seconds to count players (refs job). 2) 1 second is still valuable time and the issue would remain regardless. Again, that should not be necessary when the penalty calls for a replay of the down anyways. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | That's not the point though. |
That's not the point though. The refs wouldn't be able to call a penalty until the ball was snapped and the play started, since otherwise there would still technically be time for them to get off the field. When the clock is already ticking down this is a huge problem as there's apparently not a clock reset associated with such a penalty. It doesn't literally have to be 20 guys; having any extra in coverage is a huge advantage and there's little to lose when you're only giving up 5 yards with 50+ to go and the clock is a factor. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | That's exactly what I was |
That's exactly what I was bitching about. It doesn't make any sense - that play took a good 10 seconds off of the clock and obviously there wasn't anyone open when there was an extra man in defensive coverage. Why not put 20 guys on the field and take the 5 yards all day? |

Every year the game comes out I start checking this forum a few weeks before the release date. http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11 I've purchased '07 all the way through '11, but I don't know if I'll get it this year. It always bothers me how they ignore the most obvious issues year after year, when a simple fix could drastically improve the game. Things like, I don't know, adding fight songs that don't play with a <20 kbps bit rate. |

Agreed. M-Rob, Devin Gardner (who did end up a high 4 star to be fair), and Ricardo Miller were all supposed to absolute locks for that 5th star. I don't even think Miller got a 4th star on Rivals. This kid is very young yet, we'll see how it plays out. |

Who is he to "guarantee" a win? He's a talking head. It's even a hell of a stretch when a team member or a coach does it in my opinion.
It's general knowledge he's an asshat, but come on. It's one thing for someone in his position to believe someone will win, but this is another beast entirely. |

Although the impatience of much of the fan base is annoying to say the least, RR certainly hasn't done much to help his case, either. |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | The only thing that bothers |
The only thing that bothers me about it at this point is that it's Alabama, since the decommitment was expected. It's irritating to see such a dirty program achieve so much success through their bullshit; meanwhile, we lose every game that matters, and get hammered with sanctions for practicing 20mins over the vague limit. And then nothing happens to Auburn for buying recruits... Oh well. |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | Compared to his exceptional |
Compared to his exceptional NFL career, I think it's safe to say Brady's college career wasn't all that amazing. That's all I'm saying. Is that even possible to argue? I'm not saying he was even bad or average in college; he was good - but not exceptional. He was a 6th round draft pick. The point I was making was that Brady more than likely wasn't a huge recruiting coup for Hoke coming out of HS. Again, he wasn't a lousy recruit, but definitely not someone that should be single-handidly carrying someones reputation as a recruiter for over a decade. Everything in #2 is likely common knowledge among people on this blog; it was not "cut and pasted." Whether or not it was from Wikipedia is largely irrelevant even if it had been. |
