Michigan should add "just wait until next year" to the fight song
I....didn't have a comeback...they should
|1 week 5 days ago||I will be STUNNED||
If Michigan keeps it that close in either the OSU or Bowl game.
|1 week 5 days ago||....lolwut?||
He's the 3rd highest paid OC in the country and has managed to put together one of the worst units in Michigan history. I mean....it isn't all on him, but shit, he damn sure isn't doing a good job
|1 week 5 days ago||Oh...you have not yet begun to see flight tracking||
Just watch when the Texas job opens up. Fuck online flight tracking, there will be fans with makeshift spy drones set to follow and record the movements of every decent coach in football due to an incredibly elaborate scheme where they implant every one of them with GPS tracking chips.

He is, right behind Chad Morris and Cam Cameron, respectively. He's somewhere aroung 660,000 a year, I believe.

is the same site as Ace Williams is from. Please do not post any content from that site, it's all complete bullshit
|1 week 6 days ago||Regardless of on field performance||
Yes, yes I would like to see a head coach eat one of his assistants corpses in a press conference. Don't you dare say you wouldn't watch that. Don't even try to pretend if you saw a link that read "BREAKING: Head Football Coach beheads assistant and devours his still warm heart (VIDEO)" you wouldn't click on it.
|1 week 6 days ago||It's not right||
But I get it. That folksy, regular guy bullshit works great if you're winning, but hoooooly hell does it makes you seem fucking dumb when you aren't.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||I still say||
We throw infinity dollars at Alex Gibbs to sprinkle some of his magic offensive line dust over our guards.
Please note that this is as good of a solution as I can come up with, as even though I will criticize the staff for failing to put together a coherent offensive gameplan, I have no idea how to address the various root causes for it or even really what percentage each of the obvious causes contributes to the various offensive woes. As far as I know, the entire reason we're terrible is because Funk does not possess the magical Alex Gibbs pixie dust.

SON OF BEEFTANK!!!
relevant link for relevance:
|2 weeks 6 days ago||He is third highest paid OC||
Highest in the Big Ten, but significantly behind the 2 ahead of him. Morris makes like, 1.3 million a year, and a name I'm sure everyone is familiar with, or will be if Borges does get canned. Cam Cameron makes 1.1 million. They are the top 2 paid assistants in College FB, with maybe 2 more that make over a million a year, I think Chavis and Smart.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||Screens||
Pretty much any screen is less reliant on blocking then most plays, especially bubble screens as they stay away from the interior of the defense. Anything where you roll the QB out also helps a little, moving the pocket around can minimize blocking problems, as can quick throws.
I mean, look, it's not entirely on Borges, but to say "there are no plays which minimize the importance of blocking" is....just fucking dumb. Now, can Michigan run those plays? No, not even with the minimized emphasis on blocks. Part of that is still on the coaches though, because it's their job to get players ready, and they haven't done that.
I think even the most ardent supporters of our coaching staff realize that Funk needs to go, and at the very least Hoke should take a long look at whether Borges gives this team the best chance to compete for conference titles in the future. It's not just about drawing plays up that work on a whiteboard, it's about getting players to run them well, and this offensive staff has done a piss poor job of preparing the players for gameday, and has made just enough boneheaded playcalling decisions to get people to complain about them.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Leonard Fournette isn't coming here though||
And Hand, while very highly ranked by everyone, ain't the number one recruit.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||It was a bit of a breaking point||
People heard a Nebraska player say the offense was predictable, and with -21 rushing yards, who were we to question him?
Then Hoke just says "He's wrong" when asked about it?
Well, Brady, you managed 13 points and less than 200 yards against a team that pretty much everyone else has bombed for 450 plus and 40. You're gonna have to give us a little more than "he's wrong" or we're gonna assume you're blowing smoke up our asses.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Brady Hoke as Rick Grimes||
"Well...we did things....and stuff...."
|3 weeks 4 days ago||To be fair||
Michigan did get absolutely bombed and run out of the stadium the last 2 weeks, then one of the defensive players from Nebraska came out and said they knew what plays Michigan was running.
Borges isn't doing a good job, it's that simple. It's not all playcalling or predictability, but it's part of it, and as much it makes sense to seperate the process from the results, at some point the results are so bad it's hard to imagine the process is any good.
-21 rushing yards, against a team that gave up over 200 to wyoming, and south dakota state...I mean...how is that a good job by anyone remotely associated with the offense?
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Oh, you are so very wrong||
GREG MO'FUCKING DAVIS!!!!
I'm calling it, Borges is fired, Michigan hires Greg Fucking Davis, finishes the year as the first team in NCAA history to have a negative yardage total on offense.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||You don't get credit for learning from failure||
when you haven't done any learning.
When Michigan's offense shows it can look like something resembling a very bad offense instead of an absolute dumpster fire, then praise them.
Right now, I see an offense that has been bad all season and has continued to get worse. Failute can be a learning experience, but the key word in there is CAN and it certainly didn't look like anyone learned anything the last 2 weeks. Right now, it's just failure, and if you fail at a high level, expect to be criticized.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||You forgot||
Our guy is a MICHIGAN MAN. Sure, Urban Meyer may have a few national and conference titles, dozens more wins, and an actual functioning offense, but I'll bet he looks at a picture hanging above his desk of Hoke everyday and is jealous he will never coach for Michigan.

You're cooking it in a god damn spoon...
|3 weeks 4 days ago||So...Brady Hoke is Gene Chizik?||
|3 weeks 4 days ago||you're right, it works just fine||
If you're Stanford, or Alabama.
Michigan is not. Michigan is going to need deception to score, and we have none.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||And if he doesn't fix the offense||
A lot of people will love watching him in a TV studio in 2016
|3 weeks 4 days ago||He may be Borgesque||
in that, if you give him a ton of talent, he can make a good defense out of it. That Texas D is LOADED with talented kids, they just needed someone to slow it down, get back to basics. Robinson could do that as he was new to the job and wasn't under the pressure Diaz was, who may have been trying all sorts of crazy shit in order to get the defense to work and only making the situation worse for a team that didn't really know what they were doing in the first place.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||you can't have both||
Either The O Line Performed Poorly In Spite Of Good Play Calling, Or They Played Decent And The Play Calling Was Terrible.
-21 Yards Against A Team That Gave Up 270 To South Dakota State...Something wasn't Right.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||The problem is...||
Can Borges develop a D1 caliber/coached line?
I'm....not sure. Obviously, they should evaluate the job Funk is doing, that's step one. But looking past that, the offense has just lacked any vision or direction. I get that with the O-line problems Borges is trying to make chicken salad out of chicken shit right now, but at least some people try that and come up with mayonaiise covered chicken shit. Borges somehow tried and ended up with shit covered shit with a shit sandwich.

and landed with impressie accuracy.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Style matters less than effectiveness||
If you can run your offense well, you can win. If you can't, it will struggle. Whether it's a spread or pro style, it just needs to work.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||I'm afraid||
Not even Bob the Builder could fix this...
"Can we fix it?"
"....no.....no bob....we can't...."
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Really? That's the only issue?||
Because UCLA started a true freshman, a true sophomore, and 2 redshirt sophomores on the line against Nebraska earlier this year, and put up 41 points and 210 rushing yards.
Just keep telling yourself Borges is blameless here though. I'm sure the difference between UCLA's young lineman and Michigan's, less than a year of experience on average, fully explains why they managed 210 rushing yards to Michigan's negative 21.
Let's hammer that one home again. EVERYONE but purdue managed over 200 rushing yards against Nebraska. Including fucking Wyoming, and Michigan had -21. Minnesota and South Dakota State broke 270!!! Michigan had negative twenty fucking one!
If you honestly think, that gigantic gap is due entirely to experience on the O-line, and has nothing to do with poor player development, poor play calling and design, and just generally a poor job by Borges and the rest of the offensive staff, you are watching a different game than me. Borges has proven himself a boneheaded playcaller before, see PSU this year, OSU last year, and he's not been able to develop players to make up for his lack of creativity and total predictability on offense. Hell, after a game one of the Nebraska defenders said they knew what plays Michigan was running when they lined up! That's not a good thing!
This defense of Borges has to stop. If he was putting together even a mediocre offense right now, or one that showed improvement from week to week then it would be a different story, and you could deal with the growing pains. This offense isn't growing though, it's been 9 games and they are arguably worse than when the season started! If the O-line hasn't improved even one little bit in 9 games, what makes you think it will get better in the offseason? Isn't a big part of improveing on the O-line getting game snaps? Well then why aren't they getting any better?
The fact is, Borges was a decent coordinator at some point, in the past. The game has passed him by, and it's time to find someone who actually knows what they are doing.
