But my point was that if Texas thinks it can fill an entire channel with content and have it be profitable then why not beat them to it. Doubtful that many in the midwest would pay for the Texas channel but the nation would pay for 2 channels that included Texas, Nebraska, ND, tOSU, and Michigan.
I agree that the content is awful during the summer but with those big names there is that much more to show. During the fall and winter though I think would make up for it and people would buy.

What effect will this have on their coaching search. I have to believe quality coaches will think twice if they are going to have severe sanctions. I realize USC is in the top 5 as far as coaching jobs go but M basketball was way up there before the sanctions.
with that is that our coverage behind a blitz is so horrible that even an unblocked blitzer still allows a 5-6 yard pass to a wide open receiver. I'm thinking of a specific play against Wisconsin where I think Stevie Brown came free and they still got a first down. Brian mentioned it as well. That's the frustrating thing about this year is that when we make the right call we still get beat.
Anyone ever try Gamefly? I pay about $25 a month and I can have 3 games out at once. You can also usually get new games a day or 2 after they are released if you only have that in your queue and an available rental. This way you can get games that you want to try but not buy. Also if you really like it you can buy it at a big discount usually a week or 2 after you get the game. Much cheaper than buying new games.
I see with moving the ball back is exactly what happened this week. If you turn the ball over you should be punished. The way it is now your defense has to make an equally definitive play to keep the game going.
Talked specifically about this in his postgame press conference. He said Michigan will be watching each B10 game to see if similar things to the Mouton punch happen and how they are punished.
I thought a good example of the music starting it and then the crowd taking over was "Welcome to the Jungle" I heard the first few notes and then the crowd was just going nuts.
Leaving the stadium I saw a perfect thing to be on the back of anything coming out of the MGostore. "down in front is not a cheer"

I've been going to games for 25 years and the most eerie moment was the moment of silence before the next home game. I love that the coaches decided to have the team on the field for the National Anthem after that.

Michigan fans (especially older ones) believe that Michigan football/tradition is better than any other team. So when you throw something out there like the towel that is a direct rip off of someone elses tradition alot of people will react negatively. If I was watching a game as a casual non-Michigan fan and I saw Michigan stadium filled up with yellow towels I would immediately think "Hey they ripped off the Steelers." I don't have any better ideas to get the down in front crowd off their asses but I cringe at importing traditions from other places. As I said earlier a $7 towel is not going to make them stand up. More and more engaged fans will start to drown out the down in front crowd by being excited and not caring about their bitching.
necessarily think that the towels will ruin the experience or anything of the sort. I will probably be there waving mine around with everyone else. I do however have a hard time believing that the main culprits of the lack of enthusiasm are
A. Going to buy the towel
B. Wave it around and get off their asses
C. Be any less pissed about them than when they bitch about people standing up.
Hopefully the new additions will make these points moot and the stadium will rock (without rawk music) and it won't matter if we have towels in hand or not.
I do draw the line at those stupid blow up boom stick noise makers. Can't stand the things. Those I would boycott. (and no one would notice)
I agree that there needs to be more enthusiasm outside of the student section but I think this is a bad way to do it. I shudder whenever Michigan copies other schools/teams traditions/gimmicks. I'm not a big fan of maize outs.(mostly because there are 10 different shades of yellow being worn) The towel is not unique. It has been done for a long time by others. We pretty much copy Florida State/Atlanta Braves with the tomahawk chop. I guess I would feel better if, like hockey crowds (albeit with less swearing), the football stadium had only unique Michigan stuff. Adding all this extra crap on top of the greatest fight song ever, running out under the banner, Temptation/Hawaiian Chant, cheerleaders spelling out Michigan, and all the other "Michigan" traditions feels cheap.
This is another reason a playoff makes more sense. Having a home game at Michigan Stadium would be awesome in December. Don't tell me no one would come. They would. But the Superbowl is always played in nice weather or Ford Field(dome). But everyone loves watching the snow and ice games at Lambeau, Foxboro, or New York.
