I am wondering if they are getting the strong feeling that he's not coming, and are saying this to lower the asking price of plan B/C/D/E/random person who will accept the job.
Either way, my hopes of him coming are swirling down the crapper at the news.
Minnesota pursued him and he turned them down. Also allegedly turned down Pitt. I was against this hire a week ago, but I'm coming around. Sounds like he's able to adapt his style and system to the personnel he has. He has recruiting ties in the Midwest and now California. Look at their results from this past year at SDSU - almost beat Missouri, they beat Air Force, almost beat TCU and Utah (scored 35 against TCU!!) and easily handled a solid Navy team.
So, if as rumored there is a team meeting at 4, what is the point unless he has Hoke already signed? But if so, when did he even meet with him to interview him? Or was it done a long time ago?
It's gotta be Hoke today, doesn't it? Or will he actually let the recruiting process open back up on the 13th without a coach and no real clear direction???

for the press conference to annouce the new coach when DB pulls off a mask to reveal it's actually the Sweatervest and our next coach is John Cooper or Gerry Faust. Because that's where I feel like we're headed.
I don't see how Chucky is a good fit at the college level. Just as importantly, I don't see him staying as long as Hoke would. If Gruden does somehow get things rolling, he's back off to the NFL at the 1st decent opportunity.
While I would love to see a snowman or bigger in the win column before my son turns 10 in 5 years, I also know the depressing feeling of hammering my F5 hour after hour, day after day. I won't be ready for more flight tracking before say, oh, 2020.
on things I tend to agree. I thought the firing of RR made sense - provided DB had a coach lined up and ready to sign, which he obviously didn't. For purposes of recruiting and Denard/Martin type stuff - the longer this drags on, the worse it is looking.
is who it will be, unless DB was blowing smoke on the HC experience thing. Hoke seems more likely, as he's more defensive minded, unless DB was blowing smoke on the whole defensive minded ballboys thing, which WTF knows. I say we just throw your names in a hat, pull one out, and offer.
I stressed out about it for the last week, now am ready to just have it over so it stops mucking up recruiting. Resigned to Hoke or Miles, with a young Coordinator a possibility ... putting my faith in DB to not throw gas on the current greasefire.

If John U. says it's done, I believe that much more than if Schefter says it's not.
Hackett could hire a permanent AD right after Harbaugh is announced and still go down as one of the best ever at the position at Michigan.
So refreshing (and needed) to have competency there again.
Shhh. Hear that? I hear the faint sounds of the band rehearsing ...
Seems to me like 7/49 makes more sense ... an even $7m per. If it was 8, why not just go to $50M so it sounds cool?
Double post, for the loss.

Let's get the band back together already. My productivity has been shit the last 2.5 weeks.
He's been the worst. Pompous D.
Order moar khakis!!
Leaders eat last and crap rainbows.
Find it hard to believe, but hell, if it would get HARBAUGH back to AA, then I would dial for him.
Bacon or bacon?
I'll make an "O" face if it happens. Might not even have to fake it.
Mark Davis isn't the kid who played Cousin Oliver?
Better chance of bulking up to be a DE than having any chance at RB.
Most likely: Smart guy that will do well in the world with his degree(s).
JJ Watt
Yeah, that's it.

Give him a chance.

must have been a U-M football fan that finally snapped after reading all the rumors and seeing the coaching choices we have.
I think it will be Hoke, and I'm okay with that - provided that they announce the SOB soon and get him recruiting.
The only thing making me think it might not be Hoke is the whole
thing. Why on earth would you pay Brady Hoke anything over $2M at MAX? You wouldn't ... so why commit to paying more?

bad , bad, not functioning well . bad
and thank God for that too. This CC is wearing me out.

Head asplode ...
I didn't see the point in firing RR unless Harbaugh was a DONE deal. Now, give me Hoke or Miles.

To quote Clark Griswold, I think you're all f@*ked in the head.
Hoke to me. We'll see ...

Like him or not, they put up more points about as many points against the SEC as we did against the Big Ten, if you exclude the 3 OT's against Illini.
And Gary Patterson for $3.5M/
Who cares what he ran, he actually beat Wiscy.

Don't know if he would have come as ND was his dream job, but Brian Kelly was the guy we should have gotten in 2007.
