Why the hell is everyone condemning this as a marketing ploy, and the commercialization of the athletic department?
Why is this even coming down on Brandon?
We tried to do something unique and cool, to celebrate a top program at our school, on its 100th anniversary. I get Dave Brandon isn't the most popular guy around these parts, but I think putting his head on a stake for trying to do this is a bit much.
I don't know. Maybe I'm biased but a player of Harris's skillset seems like he would really flourish in Beilein's offense.
He can create his own shot, is a phenomenal shooter above the break, and having additional offensive weapons around him opens up his game.
MSU is taking a big time step back in the coming years. The loss of Payne and Gary Harris will probably bring them back to the bruising, blue collar type offense they've historically ran.
Hopefully Harris goes blue, and stays away from the tire fire that is West Lafayette.
(Would rather see him there than EL though).
In no way does CB swing OSU's way, especially now that Roby is gone.
Countess is primed to have an all big 10 season, Taylor has been a solid starter (good INT #'s), and we have LOTS of young talent ready to step up. If one of Jourdan Lewis, Stribling, or Peppers (any of which could reasonably contribute at a high level this season), Michigan should have the best CB corps in the Big Ten
Curious as to what everyone's predictions are for that at the moment?
Their DL scares me against what's going to be a very young and very inexperienced interior OL for us, especially that early in the season. And their defense should be strong overall (sans Teo).
Offense should (hopefully) regress with the loss of Golson and Riddick.
Urban Meyer was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot outside of Ohio State’s football facility Monday night by one of his Buckeyes players, but the head coach said it was just an isolated incident and the program is moving on.
“The media and our program’s critics and rivals want to make a big deal out of the fact that one of my backup defensive lineman held a gun to my head and told me to empty my pockets,” said Meyer. “They want to focus on the negatives of that incident. What they won’t tell you, and what I’m hear to tell you, is the good that came out of it.”
Meyer said he “looked [the player] in the eyes” and said: “Okay, I’ll give you this one armed robbery, but I want to see your best in the weightroom tomorrow. And he did. He busted his ass and he looked good doing it, too, in a nice new wardrobe I assume he bought with my money. If he keeps working hard, he can become an impact player for us. And then who will really care about this armed robbery?”
The former Florida head coach brought a reputation with him from Gainesville of running out-of-control programs, and a string of recent incidences have only led credence to that narrative. But it’s not one Meyer subscribes to.
“It’s easy to sit far away behind a radio microphone or on a computer keyboard and say that I should do this or that. That I should cut these kids from the program,” he said. “But it’s different when you’re responsible for them. When you know them on a personal level. I think people forget that there is a bigger picture. That Ohio State wants to make these people better men. And, most of all and above all else, that we want to be really awesome at football.”
Meyer then excused himself from the interview because his car alarm was going off.
As a high schooler, I don't see the appeal of playing for possibly the most robotic man in the game. Hoke's family atmosphere impacts real athletes more than glamour or recruiting facilities ever could.
This is actually 2nd tier quarterback money. This deal earns him 15.6 mil through the remainder of his contract, where the top 10 qb's are now signing deals worth 20+ mil.
Clears immediate cap space though, and is the closest thing the Lions have to a franchise qb in god knows how many years.
Over on 11 Warriors thread about this, a poster mentions how his son knows the kid, and that the surgeon who treated the tumor (and did an overall exceptional job) was a UofM med-school graduate.
Some very classy posts over there, and nice that fans can put rivalry aside for the more important things in life.
I really like Helm's speed too....and let's face it, speed is an asset we desperately need. I liked the signing of Alfie the grizzled veteran, but seems at time last season we were beaten soundly to pucks on both ends of the ice.

Do you redshirt Gary if he comes?

Peppers is dressed, and
Yes.
Peppers is dressed, and will play.
Seriously
BIG TEHHHNNNN.
Seriously though. If there's any year to win the conference, it's this one.
Friday Night Lights, The Longest Yard isn't bad, and Remember the Titans is amazing.

Got Fred Jackson, Khiry Robinson, DeAndre Hopkins, and Hakeem Nicks off the bench.
High risk high reward? That's how I'm rationalizing it.
Given this-- I'm surprised anyone can take this thing seriously.
Never can have too many 5 star RB's though.

This doesn't constitute a substance abuse problem.
Best part is the guy in the brown jacket who thinks Trey is pointing at him!
Does he have offers from all those schools?

I don't think I've ever seen a more depressing sequence of tags on a piece here.

It was fun watching him when he was on the field, however add him to the vast list of first round draft picks that never worked out for the Lions.

Maize glasses off...11.5 under for Ohio is the easiest money sports betting will ever give you.
Why is that number so specific?
$2,438,760.00
Trey makin' bank. What's Morris's contract worth?
Not a fan of this move. I like Cleary, but Wings had better options.
Do you not expect us to bitch about our teams?
Have to think Jordan will stay and hopefully take over for Beilein now.

Love this. We can let go of Fil now, and Weiss is a quality 2nd center, props to Holland.
Does this mean we play Pav and Z on the top line now?
I love the cheesecake factory.
