I was sitting midway up in Section 3 and the first thing I thought I heard break the silence when Zak was down on the field was a chant coming from the top of the stadium in the SE corner where a pocket of OSU fans were sitting. Sounded like they were chanting something for OSU. My initial thought was that it was bush-league for OSU fans to chant while Zak was still down, but it was immediately completely drowned out by the "lets go Zak" chant. Not 100% certain it was an OSU chant by OSU fans but it sure sounded like it. Did anyone else hear that?
I don't disagree with your point on the portal. I was just referring to what seemed to me like an unnecessary bitter dig at JB. Someone who coached extremely admirably at the college level for 40+ years (including the resurrection of Michigan's program) and then decided to take a shot at the pros. Maybe he also knew he was unlikely to succeed, but wanted to try. Not sure why that would produce harsh feeling for Michigan fans.
For the record, I upvoted your reply regarding being a fun guy to hang out with. I appreciate the humorous (and perhaps accurate) response to a harsh comment.
Exactly. Think of the handful of unbelievable catches their receivers made. It's not like they couldn't catch the ball when thrown. The issue for them was Stroud didn't have time to throw.
While walking to my car in the Crisler lot after the game I saw a hot head in a giant pickup truck scream obscenities at some other car, then wildly swerve around over a curb and almost hit a police officer and another car. Then he proceeded to yell obscenities at the police officer about some other guy blocking traffic. The officer kept his cool but I kind of wish he would have just written him a ticket for reckless driving. Or just being a total dick.
If you can’t control your emotions you probably shouldn’t be driving a huge vehicle in a crowded lot…. Guy easily could have hit someone including my wife and kids.
In a night game (can't remember which) a couple weeks ago I saw a player celebrate a sack by laying down in a sniper position as if firing a rifle. No penalty. Totally arbitrary...
Makes me wonder what road jerseys Michigan will wear this weekend. Hopefully they go with raised lettering on pale nimbus. Although bone would be nice too.
Anyone know of any Michigan bars in the northern suburbs of Chicago? I think there uses to be one in Northbrook, but it’s not listed anymore. I already know the Michigan bars in the City.
Interim Wide Receiver's Coach and man who just smelled some hot garbage, Brian Hartline, as the stunt double for Rick "Don't Google My Last Name" Santorum.
Speaking of officiating, did anyone else think Paschall (and to a lesser extent other Nova players) were pushing off with their off hand/arm? I know that always happens when players drive, but when you extend a forearm at some point it gets called. I chalked it up to the refs letting things go in a blowout. That is until Iggy got called for a foul for simply getting a forearm from Paschall. It was on the play referenced in the OP. I thought Matthews was complaining Paschall was pushing off with his forearm, not telling Iggy to push back.
I totally agree. I thought the end result was a foul called on Nova during the play, but also a flagrant 1 on Z thus giving Nova free throws and the ball. Do they even have the power to overturn a regular foul call on replay?
Z had that player's arm in his armpit and wouldn't let go. Ultimately I think it was the right call, but usually the second guy get's the foul. Either way, it's good to see the guys playing with an edge.
If I didn't know better I would assume that video came from a game played in a freezing rain storm with howling winds.
My buddy and I took our 4 year old sons to this game. I honestly felt guilty exposing my young child to it and feared that he might form a lifelong image of Michigan football based on it. Thankfully he forgot the particulars and is pumped to go tomorrow with me... and my buddy... and his son. Ohh god, I hope we don't cause that to happen again.
Everyone was so bored and agitated that I got a hearty laugh from both NW and Michigan fans in our section when I screamed at Fitzgerald for calling a timeout to ice our kicker before our (blocked) FG attempt at the end of the 1st half. Ahh, memories.

Does that banner read "Tuck's comin' on Harbaugh"?
Interesting fetish to include your hated rival in that type of activity...

My front yard just north of Chicago. This tree always peaks a few weeks early.
Some “people” even stoop to putting ketchup on brats, hot dogs and other long food.

So our avatars are essentially the same and we basically posted the same thing at the exact same time. We must be on the same long strange trip.
