In my opinion the only way a vast majority of these college athletes can train so hard their entire life is that they love the game. Obviously there are some outliers who are so physically talented that they don't have to work as hard, but I think for the vast majority a true passion for the sport is needed to truly excel.
Strongly disagree that socioeconomic status is more important than race (genetics). Easiest example to point out would be the NBA dunk contest. Or on the other end of the spectrum how about swimming? Different genes have different bodies which result in some tasks being easier for some people than others.
Am I crazy for thinking Michigan at +175 (risk 100 to net 175) to win the big ten is decent value? With the west division relatively weak and it feeling close to a two team race with us and OSU in the east it seems like a solid bet.
