It's so nice to read one of his Troll Tuesday-esque articles again. I'd been wondering when the first one would pop up after he got hired away from writing them for SBN.
He goes into lengths about the offenses run by RGIII, Kaepernick, as well as Russell Wilson.
Probably the most encouraging aspect of the offense, as conceived by Ault, is that the most basic play is North-South power running. Perfect for Derrick Green.
You most assuredly were not the only one to see that hustle. I think he ended up eating turf once he got to the sideline? He definitely got a rousing round of applause from the Michigan crowd.
I, too, am quite bummed that there isn't video of it.
I want to say it started in RR's first year. I was in the band at the time and vividly remember Perry Dorrenstein standing up on one of the band's portable stair dealys after a big win. I want to say '08 Wisco. He was saying fun things.
Jacobi said at one point on the twitters that he (and BHGP) couldn't take credit for it (the name, not the phenomenon). He claimed that the designation of the Angry Hating God in its more current, proper form came from Brian/MGoBlog.
At one point a while back, he did admit, via twitter, to TomVH that he had an Alabama offer. He also reaffirmed, via Twitter, that he wouldn't de-commit from M.
Shepherd is one of the larger donors to the marching band. If I'm not entirely mistaken, he footed most of the bill to get us that chartered jet to Orlando for the Capital One bowl.
It sounds like there wouldn't even be a chance for this to happen as it's an administrative issue rather than a financial.
Maybe another relevant example?: 2006 there was talk about being funded (by Shepherd) to take the band to PSU for that game. Ended up being nixed by Paterno (et al)
Another key thing for a lineman to be able to do is gain leverage FIRST. That takes in any kind of 'explosive' measurement available: jumping drills, sprints, etc.
The 40 would also help indicate how fast the center could potentially get to the second level to engage linebackers and the secondary if plays call for that.
Probably more work than a simple afternoon's perusal, but I would be curious to know how Meyer's current staff stacks up against his staffs at Florida. You pose that he hired a bunch of 'coordinator' types that could lend itself to friction, but was he doing the same stuff during his success at Florida?
Though every once in a while, the market will see an increase, and you'll get those people that see a spike when their tickets sell and then they renege on their sale. Happened to me with 2010 season tickets: I bought 2nd row student section seats for $750, seller told me he 'couldn't find them', then saw him re-list for $1000 or so.
With what other people can you have "in-depth" and "researched" conversations about the standards and practices of College Football and Sir Paul Finebaum?!
I saw the opening, and I saw the second ownership this past season. They still hadn't gotten it right for the kind of audience they could draw from that area, IMO. Pretty much just for whatever reason. I don't think I could succinctly name the things they would need to tweak to get it right and prosper.
If they could pull off replicating the South-U vibe, I think it would be a huge hit.
Now would be an apt time to get an #evacuateFordField hashtag or something trending in Detroit around the time of the game. It could serve to organize a mass exodus to the concourses or bathrooms or what have you.
What would be more vindicating than a completely empty stadium on national television? Besides the obvious...
This is where I would put a video of BWC booking it across the field sideline to sideline to get off for a substitution. I would extend it to include how he couldn't stop, ate it hard on our sideline, then got up and got a big cheer from our section of the stadium
A week or two ago I was reading a stream of tweets from @edsbs, @celebrityhottub, @burritobrosshit and @nastinchka with some hash tags regarding ACC SEC and B1G admissions questions. They were quite amusing, though I am unable to search for them right now, but just wanted to get your hopes up...
I would have assumed growing up in Midland (he did grow up there, right?) and surrounded by blue and yellow Block Ms everywhere that something would've have tipped him towards us.
Midland did that to me when I moved there in elementary school: I thought to myself 'there are a lot of Michigan fans here!' Then I realized they were for Midland High, and I got a bit sad (Dow grad)
On purpose or not, I like the concept of the underthrown ball on purpose. Our receivers are fast enough to keep corners' heads turned from the ball/QB, so they're at a disadvantage when they have to react to a change in direction at the last possible second.
I would agree with the disagreement on Bauserman, if on nothing else than pure athleticism. From what I noticed, Bauserman doesn't have near the athletic ability that Carder does. I don't think Baus could have dodged Demens' blitz like Carder did. Even pre-snap, Carder was bouncing around like a little kid getting the play calls to his team, something I didn't see Baus do to the same extent.
If you watch the 'Game Improvements' preview video, Denard is running through a number of tackles while Herbie explains that you actually have to have a line on a tackle based on the new mechanics

This is absolutely incredible! Thank you so much for making this! Impeccable work on the piccolo stuff, especially!
So many exclamation marks!

I bugged him on the Twitters and he said he's potentially aiming to put some quip-compilation together at some point.
Solid choice.
I have a smattering of Firestone Walker brews in my fridge which I will inevitably consume at some point tonight.
MGoBlue says that lenses less than 6 inches are permitted, but doesn't explicitly say that larger ones aren't permitted.

Though I was really excited to hear talk about CLEEEAAAAAATSSS.
And Tacos
Denard's smile (across the entire banner) with 'MGOBLOG' superimposed, written in the old Michigan Stadium lettering?

is a recommended read, if only for their collective wit regarding college football (SEC primarily, but they hate on everybody)
@edsbs - Spencer's the ringleader
@SIHolly / @Nastinchka - former colleague, now a writer at SI
@burritobrosshit, @lukezim, @celebrityhottub - contributers
@bomani_jones - The Bomani. Newly hired at SBNation.
Also recommended: people who write for SBNation or affiliate sites
But it was Shane Morris who added an extra 'Me Too!'

Instrumental track from "Wait (The Whisper Song)" by the Ying Yang Twins. If it's good enough for The Big House
UNCONCEIVABLE!!?1
How are we supposed to have Dr. Pepper on the sidelines for Molk to give to Shoeski under the premise that they're all gonna have a real good time?

Took me a few seconds to see through the mountains of Old Spice foam to figure out who you were referring to. [drinks another redbull]
"Dream On." That was a favorite part of being in the band in 2006...

He did say 'EDSBS'! I'd say they're synonymous for the most part. #rememberthefive
You can see her jumping around like a crazy person in the ESPN camera angle (back corner of the endzone) when Treezy comes down with the touchdown
He can still throw bullets off of his backfoot whilst jumping and being angry at everything. Uncommon arm strength

I resemble that remark!
But that aside, it was amusing seeing Midland Stadium from TomVH's pictures on Friday. Also aside, Elmer is gigantic compared to everybody there
