For everyone rooting for…

For everyone rooting for Washington because they think Oregon is better/stronger, it's kind of a self-defeating argument if Washington beats them twice in the same year.  Playing either in the Rose Bowl on grass is not my ideal scenario.

A certain high profile Sparty alum, pays a $500/mo stipend to EVERY football player on the roster, walk-ons included (happen to know one of said walk-ons who is receiving this).  I think this an example of what you are talking about, and where Michigan definitely needs to play catch-up.

As a Ludington native, that is definitely the Silver Lake sand dunes pictured on the map and in the video with the dune buggies.  SMH at everyone who sees sand and automatically thinks Sleeping Bear Dunes.

I had similar thoughts.  We almost cancelled our own trip because of the timing.  I think your last thought is correct.  U of M made a nice gesture to fly them down there and they accepted.  They were probably back home within the hour.

Classic "User name checks…

Classic "User name checks out" post.  Thank you to everyone for the well wishes.  My understanding is that Michigan will be wearing a "TM 42" patch to honor Tate Myre.  If you see me around town or at the game, I will be wearing Oxford Strong gear instead of the usual Michigan garb - still the right color scheme - but more appropriate to my mindset these days.

I don't think comparing…

I don't think comparing Burger King to Indiana is fair to Burger King.  Burger King is not *that* bad. Maybe Hardees or Jack In The Box?  McDonalds was actually the lowest rated fast food chain in a recent USA Today poll.

That picture of Hutchinson,…

That picture of Hutchinson, arms raised with the snow falling, has to be an instant classic.  Not that he will need any NIL support, but that should be on sale, like tomorrow, at the M-Den.

I'm not scared of Mel Tucker…

I'm not scared of Mel Tucker.  I am concerned that they have a couple of mega-rich alums who don't have a problem throwing money at the program.  This is the threat!  They are already paying each football player $500 a month, including the walk-ons, so how much are they willing to fund the next 5* or Portal stud.  In the age of NIL, this will be our concern.  We have plenty of rich alums, but they seem to be more interested in getting buildings and coaching positions named after themselves, and more likely to look down on the practice funding the team.

This.  Math would tell you…

This.  Math would tell you to expect 8-10 right off the top, and then to expect the remaining 20 to either rise up to the level of starter or accept a non-starting role is probably unrealistic.  The quality of guys staying vs those leaving is pretty good, with the exceptions of Black and maybe Solomon, and discounting early NFL departures.

Imagine if Robinson was Stauskas 2.0 from three point range as he showed early on last year. He seems to miss an awful lot shots that you expect the "just a shooter" guy to make, including at the free throw line in crunch time.
Beg to differ on the Taco rating. Yes he was good in pure pass rush situations, but seemed to consistently get sucked inside and not hold the edge on rushing plays. Maybe Magnus can straighten me out on that one, but if not Taco then whose responsibility was it? I was also disappointed that we did not have a spy on Barrett late in the game. He was inaccurate all day throwing but we let him beat us in the 4th quarter with his feet. How many times have we seen this? I thought for sure Peppers would be shadowing him all day in the "put athletes vs athletes" Don Brown strategy.
I'm well aware Of who the offensive coordinator is. Fisch is the passing coordinator and he was in charge of organizing this camp. My point was nobody on his camp staff knew wtf they were doing next even though they had 27 sheets of paper to decode. Yes it was their first time doing this so chalk up the chaos to that plus a hectic schedule that had them all over the country in the last two weeks. But good for you, you know who the offensive coordinator is. Add that to your 60000 points!
My kid is 14 jackwagon. We did not go there to get recruited. It was supposed to be all about learning the qb position from those who had played at the highest level, not a meat market. Lesson learned on my part.
Not Impressed I'm glad the top end recruits seemed to enjoy the camp. As a dad and a coach I was not impressed. It was poorly organized and the majority of the everyday hs qbs spent most of the day sequestered in one of the field houses away from the nfl talent. More time was spent transferring from one drill to the next than the actual drill itself, which yielded about 1.5 reps on average. Clearly there was a different experience going on inside the stadium. I hope for U of M's sake Fisch is more organized inside the stadium when he is calling plays too,
Trust in Harbaugh

As an Alum and a fan I trust that we have the right guy for the job.  However, having just attended the 1 day Ann Arbor Aerial Assault QB camp, let me tell you not everything this staff poops turns out gold.  They may have done "it" in the NFL and elsewhere, but I'm hoping they and everyone else doesn't think you can just show up and the magic starts to happen.  Jedd Fisch was supposedly the brains behind one of the most disorganized 1 day camps I have ever attended.  2 Stars won't play like 5 Stars just because that guy is here.  There is a long way to go and this staff might be in for a rude awakening.
