Bizarre thing I read recently about non-elite colleges. In order to seem elite and exclusive, they jacked up tuition to elite college prices. In order to attract students, nearly everyone gets significant financial assistance, slashing the out of pocket cost, but decimating their endowments. Death spiral that will inevitably lead to a lot more closures of small private colleges...and probably some MAC-level closures as well.
I have no idea anymore. I chiseled my college application on a rock and had a brontosaurus drag it to the colleges I applied to.
On a more serious note, I guess I would still have been admitted to UM Law, since my LSAT was in the 99th percentile, though my 3.985 college GPA was probably far short of current standards.
On the other hand, not sure I could afford it. Had an academic scholarship for tuition plus $1000. So, L1 I needed to come up with $400 for a triple in the Law Quad for a triple room&board, plus a hundred bucks or so for books. Tuition was about $1200/yr. That was 1975-76. By L3, splurging on a single with a fireplace and bay window, ground floor, I needed to come up with $600 or so. Covered it easily with summer jobs at $2.50/hr.
Now, books alone are far more than the total cost of tuition, room&board and fees. Room & board annually is more than I spent on 7 years of undergrad and law school.
I imagine that attending the draft in person could be a fun experience, but I've always thought that watching it on the TeeVee machine was like watching paint dry...or golf.
I'll venture a wild guess that our game will be at Lambeau, Wrigley or Soldier Field. I don't know what the dimensions or logistics are at whatever they call the White Sox park nowadays...but it's interesting that it's never mentioned as an option.
Here's a complete wild card option, at a good mid-point...what if the game was scheduled for Notre Dame stadium? There is train service from Chicago.
I know some of the guys & gals at Open Water Chicago who swim year-round as long as the lake isn't iced over. I can easily imagine some of them doing exactly that.
Dumping Minnesota and Indiana would make more sense in football. Northwestern has been far more successful. The Gophers and Hoosiers haven't sniffed a title since 1967.

The NFL requires teams to disclose who they've interviewed when the person is under contract to another NFL team. They didn't have to disclose the Harbaugh interview because he's not a NFL coach, but having disclosed the others, makes sense to do the same.
