It was a great presser. I'm glad he was hired and I predict he will achieve great success.

But to use words like "poised" and "well spoken" for an adult, particularly for an adult of color, is cringe-worthy, if not positively offensive.

He's a grown man with an impressive professional resume. It's not like he's a 12 year old speaking in public for the first time in his life.

Warde mentioned based on scheduling and bye weeks, they said they would ask Harbaugh to return for a game as honorary captain. I think that's awesome.

I also love him using "with enthusiasm unknown to mankind" in his speech. It was a nice touch

Great presser. One take away is he'll run the program they Jim did: The Team! The Team! The Team! meaning that it will remain all about the players.

Glad to see this HC replacement was handled quickly and correctly.

Congrats to Sherrone. This program is in great hands. I for one will be able to sleep well tonight.

Respectfully - IMO - Jim’s mentors seem to have been…

1A - Jack Harbaugh… then 1B - Bo.

”What’s my name?”   “An enthusiasm unknown to mankind.”  “Be better today than you were yesterday - and better tomorrow than you are today.”  “Who’s got it better than us?”    Those are four phrases that should complement “The team.  The Team, THE TEAM.”

I’ll be honest, I don’t think Harbaugh’s name did Michigan many favors in recruiting after the luster of being an NFL coach faded after the first few years.

I love Harbaugh, quirks and all. But he is a weird dude and I don’t think his personality made him any more desirable to play for than any other coach for the most part. You had a few players here and there that instantly gelled with his quirks and his players generally loved him while on campus. But we were mostly recruiting in the low to mid teens with a former NFL coach that is top 5 all-time in winning percentage.

Moore is considered an excellent recruiter. And I think his youth and energy are going to be generally received better by recruits than Harbaugh’s quirks. Put a good staff together and I can see the recruiting rankings being even better. The question for me is going to be whether or not they maintain the infrastructure that enabled them to routinely get under-valued recruits and develop them into all-B1G talents.

One player said that, and as I said there are instances where individual recruits do like his quirks. But as a whole, Harbaugh is a weird dude that does stuff like wearing cleats all the time. You can call it “subjective” if it makes you feel better, but Harbaugh IS a weird dude and our recruiting rankings weren’t all that great under his direction.
