the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

| 1 day 14 hours ago | i couldn't agree more... |
...except i would extend that to non-student tickets. ticket pricing is a classic bubble, and it will eventually pop. i, for one, wouldn't spend the $500 a pop plus license fees to watch this schedule...or any other in the last ten years, for that matter. maybe i'd feel differently if i lived in ann arbor rather than grand rapids, but seriously. no way. |
| 1 day 14 hours ago | seriously. |
the dumbest fucking conference ever. jesus, i can't think of a single thing this conference has done in the last five years that didn't make me want to grind my teeth down to fucking nubs. our athletic department isn't a whole lot better. |
| 3 days 16 hours ago | as always, |
follow bo, to wit: "to hell with notre dame." also: "we don't need notre dame. they need us more than we need them." |
| 1 week 2 days ago | non-filthy rich athletic directors... |
...will never ever happen, ever again. we are so far down the "presented by" road that the first and only qualification we will ever have is "business connections." to suggest otherwise is to suggest that finances and fundraising will ever be something other than number one with a bullet on the list of priorities. it ain't happening. |
| 4 weeks 2 days ago | best of luck to him. |
...the biggest difference between morris / harris and burke / hardaway, in my opinion, is that those guys left with significant unfinished business and possibly the opportunity to move up if they stuck around. burke / hardaway are leaving having led this team to the final four, which (also imho) is the ultimate goal for any program not named kentucky. you make the final four, you get to walk with your head held high, no regrets. maybe i'll feel differently two years from now if we stay on this level but don't completely grab the ring, but right here, right now, i'm okay. |
| 4 weeks 2 days ago | there's never been a post... |
...that wasn't improved by a douglas adams reference. |
| 5 weeks 3 days ago | dear god, brian... |
...do you have to be so fucking good? this loss hurts more, somehow than any of the other soul-crushing losses i've experienced in my 47 years. or, more likely, it's just the freshest one. in any case, you encapsulate it all perfectly. i don't want to think about referees, or post defense, or nba guys, or any of that other crap. as you say, that will come eventually. right now, i want to feel bad, but i also want to feel fantastic for the ride. and, sure thing, i'm doing them both. weird. it's still great to be a michigan wolverine. |
| 6 weeks 20 hours ago | best to you, Ace. |
best wishes, and thank you. |

someone get underground printing going on a "let's try to have fun" shirt with the beilein photo, stat. |

this notion that fisher has no culpability because he wasn't the one who was handing out the checks is silly. to steal a quote: "i'm shocked. shocked! that there are players receiving additional benefits!" i was on campus for grad school during the fab five era and lived in the same apt complex as webber. trust me, there were lots and lots of rumors that something was up...fisher chose not to see it and skated. i was also on campus as an undergrad during the bill frieder era, and there were similar rumors...but those were different times. |
| 8 weeks 2 days ago | posted to the other, but |
...worth repeating. robert marve tore his ACL on sept 8 last year: he played against us three weeks later. this is not necessarily the end of ryan's season. |
| 8 weeks 2 days ago | not according to the AP. |
dated 9/11/2012: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/purdue-qb-marve-another-knee-183743244--ncaaf.html he played against us three weeks later. |
| 8 weeks 2 days ago | just for once, |
can we just wait for more information from, like, doctors and stuff? before we have a complete pants-shitting meltdown? oh, wait. forgot where i was, there. |
| 9 weeks 4 days ago | fair enough... |
...just a smartassed cheap shot...well, i thought it was smartassed. obviously not. |
| 9 weeks 4 days ago | FWIW, |
izzo isn't above asking like a lunatic and / or pouty asshat, either, and kids line up to play for him. i totally agree with you, by the way. |

tweet from last night: Crean is like a crazy chick on The Bachelor. His peers hate him, he never thinks he's at fault, and he inevitably gets sent home early |
| 10 weeks 4 days ago | well... |
...you could probably say that about a lot of little rituals that every team in every sport does. "1-2-3-defense" when breaking the huddle, or slapping the goalie's pads with your stick at the end of warmups, or touching the banner...they don't actually "do" anything per se, they're just reminders and team-builders. |
| 10 weeks 4 days ago | well done. |
nice reference, there. |

Oklahoma, 1987 or so. I'm absolutely positive. |
| 11 weeks 1 day ago | completely agree. |
the ncaa is dumb for many, many reasons...this seems like really small potatoes, and i'm not sure it's even inappropriate. |

someone who may or may not be named "barry alvarez" is commenting on quality of non-conference scheduling? so weird - there used to be a guy that coached wisconsin by the same name. this is obviously not the same guy. that would make no fucking sense whatsoever. |
| 13 weeks 2 days ago | you don't need to go that far. |
that all-the-freshman kentucky team from last season? got outscored 17-4 by vanderbilt in the last 8:04 to blow the SEC championship. i'm not saying we're anywhere near that good. obviously. but very, very few teams go whole seasons without a bad loss, especially when they're this young. i'm still feeling it. |
| 13 weeks 2 days ago | the most awesomest comment ever. |
i'm not really even kidding. if internet comment sections are the repositiory of critical masses of dumbassery - and they are - this is the most comment-ey comment ever. |
| 13 weeks 4 days ago | +1 |
for "molesty." |
| 13 weeks 4 days ago | dan dakich... |
...is simply terrific, but man, did his constant blather about the refereeing crew get old. he usually sees stuff i don't, but this time it was the complete opposite. ...and what is it about wisconsin sports? between a run-it-up meathead like bielema (and don't think it's going to get any better with andersen, by the way - he's got some bigmouth in him, too), a dickhead like ryan, homophobic chants in the stands and a truly epically douchebaggy marching band, i just want to burn madison to the fucking ground every time we play them...in any sport. |
| 15 weeks 12 hours ago | msu guy |
i get the point, and msu guy is obviously just a...well, he's an msu guy, but is it fair to say that when someone pops up "out of nowhere" and gets an offer from michigan (or any other "major" power), he pretty much automatically goes from no stars to three based entirely on getting an offer? and that msu, since it doesn't have the prominence that michigan has, doesn't get that same bump at the lower end? let's not pretend that rankings are based entirely on some sort of objective, honest assessment of talent / ability / potential. more like "ooh, alabama offered him, he must be good. four stars." not to be argumentative, or anything. |
| 16 weeks 2 days ago | hm. |
harbaugh was my favorite player at michigan...i loved his swagger, his approach, his toughness. our undergrad years overlapped, and some of my favorite times as a fan are the result of jim harbaugh. that said, i would respectfully submit that his distancing from the michigan fanbase has absolutely nothing in common with the herbstreit thing. herbstreit did not actively and directly cut down his alma mater for personal gain. jim harbaugh did. i guess i'm a small person, but i can't forgive him that. it's certainly true that bo would be proud of harbaugh's accomplishments, proud of the way his teams play, proud of him 20 different ways. but he also would have shredded his ass for saying the things he did about michigan. i suspect that he would have said those things whether or not bo had been alive at the time; i also suspect that, had bo been alive, he would have walked them back at least a little. i'm very disappointed that he hasn't done that. |
| 16 weeks 4 days ago | no, it's not difficult... |
...to imagine kiffin and orgeron having a conversation about snapchat. unfortunately, the mental image of a semi-nude orgeron snapchatting pics of himself to some gigantic samoan lineman is not offset by the general wonderfulness of imagining that dreamy lane kiffin in a snapchat. thanks a lot for planting that one, brian. i won't sleep for a week. |
