I would suggest looking on Craigslist, Padmapper, or other similar sites for a rental home on the northwest side of Ann Arbor, in the Maple/Miller area. It is relatively inexpensive compared to the rest of Ann Arbor, but still within bike ride distance of campus. When we moved back to Ann Arbor in 2012, we were able to rent a 3-BR home there, within walking distance of Haisley elementary, for not much more than a 2-BR apartment near campus. Housing values have gone up a bit since then, but it's still a good bang-for-your-buck.

When a user hails a car through Lyft, the user tells you a) where they are, and b) where they're going. Lyft/GM can make sure that they only send out the autonomous vehicles when the route between the start and finish points is well-mapped and navigable by our new robot overlords.
As techological capabilities and mapping data improve, they can gradually increase the variety of routes to which they send out the autonomous vehicles.

Which is why I spent my remaining per diem at a bar on the Riverwalk before heading to the airport.

I saw the Beach Boys 50th anniversary tour a couple of years ago. Unless his condition has improved dramatically, I doubt Brian Wilson will be doing much of anything on this summer tour.

In the comments for the "how close are we" diary, there's some spam from a user named JGZ59146. Looks like he's done the same in a few other threads as well.

I was about to say the same thing. See, for example, this profile of Ace. (This may also be the first public mention of Ace's ska band?)
Good idea, though. Might be worth re-starting, since there's been some turnover in the last few years.

When I was in high school (early aughts), my father and I restored one of these:
A 1963 Cadillac convertible. (This isn't the exact car, but it's the right year, model, and color.) I remember that the engine compartment was so big you could literally sit in it while working on the engine.
Driving that thing felt like steering a cruise ship.

Matt Hinton used to do an annual article on this topic, demonstrating that recruiting stars DO matter - players with better rankings are more likely to become all-Americans, get drafted, etc. Here's one from a couple years ago.

There's an open rehearsal at Michigan Stadium on Friday evening. They're prepping the halftime show, which this week features (in addition to the MMB) the brass section of the NY Philharmonic, the Choral Union, and the alumni band.
Even if the music doesn't appeal to you (or the rehearsal is just really boring), it may be a nice opportunity to enjoy some time in the stadium.

Outlook actually has a built-in RSS feed reader. Add the mgoblog feed and then you can read it within Outlook, no browser required. If someone walks too close, you can just click over to the Mail pane - much more discreet than minimizing or alt-tabbing away from your browser.
