I'm a self-employed Rolfer who set up my business in Farmington last year. It's always a little tough describing Rolfing exactly but it's kind of like massage with some movement education that works towards long-lasting change in someone's body and definitely isn't a relaxing Swedish oil massage. I also recently got certified in Foundation Training, which is a corrective rehab exercise program. I'm offering free sessions of that since I need student teaching hours to test out. I'm still trying to grow my business as marketing is really not my strong suit and was wondering if it would be OK to make a post here about it since it's into the offseason. I realize a lot of people do some kind of business where posting here may be useful, so I thought I'd ask mods and users what they think since we don't want to just turn it into a classified ads board. Yet, I think it could be helpful not just for me but others who could use the work. I remember someone commenting about former players who are beat up in need of health care. Rolfing can certainly help with old injuries, arthritis, etc. I was planning to do something like an AMA where we can discuss Rolfing, fascia, massage, PT, exercise, pain, etc. so it's useful and interesting besides just serving as an ad directing people to my website. So, yay or nay?
That's the other thing. We don't throw to WRs much and any good one would get paid less at Michigan than elsewhere. Can't say I'd be that keen on Michigan if I was a WR.
Unless you're near downtown Birmingham I don't think it's really walkable at all, right? I certainly understand where the OP is coming from. I lived in Seoul for 11 years and definitely miss a lot of it.
They do have a good track record though as a basketball program from what I can recall. Calipari wouldn't be going there if they were basement program.
Wouldn't be so sure about that. On the last audible podcast, Bruce Feldman said there are a lot of instances where it's the parents or agents or others who are pushing the the kid to go maximize NIL elsewhere.
I was thinking it'd be a great sport for women who wanna play something physical when I was watching women's Olympic rugby 4 years ago. It was fun to watch and free-flowing. The women looked pretty fast and very physical. Obviously something like football doesn't work easily given how many players you need, chucking a football far downfield, etc. Rugby doesn't require much equipment.
To be fair, the players said he had changed too. I remember Hutchinson saying after 2020 he was taking more input from players on the program and what needs to be changed. I assume he'll carry that into the NFL. Seems happy getting away from the mess college football is right now off the field.
Not to mention although no one here knows how things really went down, I think Juwan made a great point that somehow Sanderson's email to HR got leaked and his didn't, so we had months only hearing about Sanderson's side of it.

Maybe because many here are irrationally optimistic that every good FAU and Oklahoma St. player is knocking down the door to come here. Jace isn't keeping Johnell Davis from coming.

So who does control NIL funding? Warde has explicitly said he's against paying players up front. I don't think that's just up to the coaches to follow or not.

I worry some guys will come here and leave for the NBA early or go to Kentucky where they can pull whatever they did to get NIL for Tshiebwe. I know Diabate had an NBA body so was likely to go early anyway, but I feel like any international guy on the fence about going to the draft is gonna go if they aren't getting NIL. But May held on to guys at FAU who surely could have made more at other schools, so who knows.

He's a player's coach and in the NBA he can worry a lot more about basketball and relationships with players as opposed to relationships with donors. From what we read about coaching in the NFL or NBA versus college, there's not a chance in hell I'd wanna go the college route if I was a coach.
Also it was reported somewhere part of his frustration was he was seemingly misdiagnosed at first which is why he basically didn't play almost all year.
Well, they had good offenses. I don't know much about Herman's time at Texas but Mullen and Frost seemed to fail more for HC duty reasons than offensive philosophy. I'd take any of those guys as OC.
Alex's piece on the sad state of Michigan basketball under Juwan was mostly stuff we knew if you read this blog, but one thing I hadn't really thought about was how even the guys we lost out on never really did much. Frankie left and floundered at ASU. Josh Christopher and Isiah Todd haven't done anything impressive apparently. Diabate barely playing. Houstan appears to be getting a little run at least. Jett Howard. Still early for those guys of course but given all that talent no one appears to be tracking towards a good NBA career yet. Before that piece I had been thinking, "Well if they could just bring in some more of these guys or get them to stay...". I'd rather have someone who can find diamonds in the rough who are going to stick around.
I didn't realize Orlando has 4 former Michigan players: Jett, Caleb, and the Wagners.
I had a custom made Michigan t-shirt done for my brother and I like 20 years ago. I'm sure the guy never got a licensing deal. It was just 2 shirts and it's not like some cop or someone in the Michigan administration is gonna come up and demand to know where I got the shirt. So, probably supposed to, but do they care if they're literally making 1?
Part of this is also that Michigan basketball is not Michigan football. It's a very good program to coach at, but it's certainly not in the upper echelon. If this was Duke looking around for a new coach, some bigger, more established names would be possibilities.
I barely even played driveway basketball and, being a bit ambidextrous, never was even sure which hand I should be shooting with. But I'm not quite as old as mgrowold (my back and knees are working hard to catch up) so sign me up.

You mean income tax? Certainly there are state taxes. TN sales tax is 9% I believe.
