Club level food is excellent. (At least it has been in years past. Didn't attend this game; gave the tickets to my chauffeur)

Get over it. It's a valid topic for speculation & discussion. Sometimes scandals (and team consequences, if imposed) hurt recruiting, but some prospects seem to not be influenced by it. That's interesting to me, and apparently to the OP.

Best thing I ever did when I went to these was to print a roster, sorted by position group (and if I were going this year I'd do one by year too). That way you never get caught wondering who an unfamiliar face is. I spent my time in line figuring out who everyone at the table was so we had something appreciative & personal to say to each of them as they signed.

This kind of error isn't hard to make when you're more focused on graphic style and layout instead of the words. Which is precisely why you bring in fresh eyes to check everything. Either they didn't do that, or everyone who checked it for acuracy blew it. Sparty no.

The idea that the Regents have somehow had it with Brandon or don't respect him isn't credible to me. The man sat in their seats not that long ago.

So, so ready for the weekend. This is the first weekend in a long time that I didn't have some obligation to fulfill. This weekend is MINE, all mine!

I took one of their baking classes once. The ingredients that went into the tart we made were all top-of-the line and pricey when I acquired them myself. Therefore I stopped griping about the price of their desserts.

I actually let out a squawk of delighted surprise when I saw the headline in the newspaper. I hadn't realized how much of a fan I was until I found myself glued to the TV every Monday for DWTS.

Last night I had to meet a friend who was having a kind of crisis, and the bar we met at was showing the Tigers game, no softball. So I was in the dark, and I almost checked twitter for the score but didn't. I should have known something good was up when I walked in to the house and my husband had the DVR cued up to replay the 7th inning, just waiting for me.
It was so sweet to watch. Those homers! That catch!

I thought that research also suggested that it's multiple cumulative injuries that were devastating, and that you might be able to reduce risk by having less hitting in practice. It may not be "playing the game" as in the actual games, but the years of daily in-season practice hits that go along with being on the team. That seems changeable.

Went to brunch with the in-laws. Then came home to empty the dishwasher and other chores. I have yet to have a Mother's Day where I got to truly have the day off but it's the nature of the job.

I'm a female but recognize this issue is complicated. My own views are complicated by the fact that I am a mother of a teenage son. Also the fact that I work for the University. And that when I was a student here, I served on OSCR for a year.
I have my own history of drunken stupidity & sexual idiocy to reflect on too.
I have a friend who was a victim of inebriated date rape and the way she describes the aftermath is really terrible. How she felt, how her university treated her, how her family reacted. It's been over a decade and she still carries this around with her. But here's the kicker: How she describes the start of that encounter? It sounds really similar to situations I was in, in college. More than once, even: Two drunk people, horny guy, semi-reluctant girl who eventually gives in (ie. gives consent at the time, after some pleading) and regrets it later. But these things had very different outcomes in terms of emotions and consequences.
So what baffles and concerns me (as an employee of an institution which houses young men and young women, all of whom are deserving of protection, and as the mother of a son who is a few years from college and intimate relationships himself) is that the facts of an encounter can be undisputed, but the ultimate criminality of them seems to hinge on something you cannot see, predict, or control. And that's how a woman reacts to a sexual encounter she is ambivalent about, and that she regrets afterwards. What determines whether a woman feels destroyed and violated, taken advantage of, illegally coerced? What determines whether a woman says "That was stupid on my part?" Which ones will suffer long-term emotionally, and which ones won't? Which ones are going to ask the University (or law) to intervene, and thus possibly change forever the lives of their sexual partner? What determines the outcome in these particular kinds of hook-ups? I don't know. Sometimes it feels like the only answer is don't drink, and don't hook up. Not so realistic.
ETA: I'm not referring to the case UM is being sued for; I'm talking about experiences I have had, as described.

This really bugs me:
"The University is reviewing the complaints and plans to defend them vigorously."
So, the University has already made up its mind that everything OSCR did was completely correct, before it's reviewed this complaint in full?

|18 weeks 4 days ago||adults are better than that||
adults are better than that at weighing their priorities and don't purposely break the rules and then play victim.
If this were true there would be little recreational drug use except among minors. We would need less traffic enforcement. The IRS could cut its staff by 80%. There would be little need for internet filters like Websense.
Realistically, this is an idealistic standard and I don't see it in the world I live in. Adults take chances all the time, ignoring and bending the rules, particularly the ones they think lack reasonableness.
Most of the time it's fine because they don't get caught, or, if they do, the consequences are lighter than what they could be.
Whatever you think of pot-smoking or Mitch McGary, is he really such an outlier?

Yes, I work on a big multi-university survey (and if you're a UM undergraduate and you're reading this--please go take it. It's called UMAY) and I have to get them to reword and recode some things each year, because every other university in the consortium considers this to be "Spring" semester.
And, somewhat relevant to the thread: my father in law said this is the last year he's keeping his season tickets. I think they've had them for over 40 years.
